Game's not over yet. But it's not quite the same team from a couple weeks ago.

TT has a 7 man rotation and plays his starters to death. Not good for back to backs, but the playoffs have none usually don't they? Hard ot remember as a Raptors fan.
They were still winning and rolling on back to backs in previous weeks. I did say i suspected that level of play wasn't sustainable. I would say they would be hurt by nagging aches and pains worse than the Raptors. With a day's rest or not. They'll still play hard as hell, but the results won't be as sweet.

He might, there's a league mandated minimum number of "rest" days where no practice is allowed and no games are played. If CHI hasn't filled their quota, he'll probably have no choice but to rest some guys (and typically if there's a stretch where you have 4 or more days off, your previous schedule was likely too full to use up all your rest days).

The Raptors are using two of their rest days this week even though Casey doesn't want to for the exact same reason.

I'm happy we get a couple days off. Our players need it. Hopefully its enough to get some of the guys healed up. But if we can manage to go on a stretch here and gain a good lead for the 3rd seed. We can lower minutes of the starters for those few games before playoffs start

I decided on Atlanta
The Nets scare me only because of the players they have and how the NBA loves to support their bigger names. I would be afraid of all the suspect "star" calls coming to them cuz of names like Deron, Pierce, KG, JJ compared to our guys like DD and KL. Also their veteran play could factor in the play when all our inexperienced guys look like deer in the headlights when they realize its playoffs and its a whole different game.
I originally thought of the Wizards but then thinking about their 3 point shooters I would be afraid that they could catch fire for like 3 or 4 games and just steal the series considering how many of them could do it. They also have John Wall who could just drive passed the whole team and 1 man team outscore us. He could also get those mystery "star" calls if the NBA wants.
The Bulls are just too solid as a team and I would worry about them in general. Their defense also worries me and with our typical slow starts they could bury us early and we might not recover.
The Bobcats to me aren't a good team but for some reason we just can't beat them so I want to stay away from that one.
I feel like Atlanta is tough but they don't have a lot of guys that really scare me individually other than Milsap who I think is more containable than a lot of other "star players". I just feel like the rest of the roster is not any better than ours and a lot of their bigs are injured to the point where old man Elton Brand is starting for them right now.

i voted for the wizards, but as beat up as atlanta is i would prefer to face them. charlotte has this teams number and the bulls and nets both teams i hope the Raptors avoid, even if that means slipping to 4th seed. matchups matter so much more.

we have, in essence, a 4 game lead over the nets with 20 games to go (due to the big advantage in tie-breakers). They're not catching us, barring a monster run which I doubt they can pull off. Even then, our schedule in april is pretty easy.

The main question is, if we want to avoid the nets, is is better to gun for the 3rd or 4th spot, no way to tell yet. Might as well go for 3rd in this case, especially if Miami can catch Indiana (pretty likely). There is a small, very small chance that we could get to the conf finals in this scenario, while against Miami we have basically no shot whatsoever.
