There just seems to be no rhyme or reason for who plays and who doesn't.

They didn't miss Ed, they missed JV.

It's pretty clear that he doesn't trust Davis/JV/Ross, but I think the biggest reason is because of the shitty offensive game plans, he probably feels he needs all his offensive minded guys to compensate. Our half court offense is just atrocious this season and the play calls make smitchell look like Carlisle ...

The reason I say Casey needs to go is because we're under performing with him as the HC WITH Lowry. I haven't seen enough of a defensive improvement, just a slight mentality bump where as our offense with more talent has looked terrible at times.

When you already have such a small room for error with the talent level we have, you absolutely cannot have the coach making bad decisions.

Hate to say it but if we still had Triano this would be a win. :cookie:

PS Thank God the Jays look good this year or I'd fucking give up Toronto sports altogether.

Dude guarded Kobe, Westbrook, and D.Wade on the way to winning a championship, and you lumped him in with players you think are bad defenders.

I maintain you're misinformed.

And are NBA SGs easy to guard...is that why he's playing SG? Because he isn't capable of defending quick players?

Maybe Felton isn't strong enough to guard the 2-spot?

Triano's team would have scored 100+ easilly, while giving up 120

One of the hardest things in life is dealing with reality and confessing your mistakes, this is something Raptors management and owners have never been able to do. The reality is : we are a very bad team and the whole franchise has become the joke of the NBA.
Frankly, I have expected this season to be a disaster, and to my surprise, Raptors bad performance has been worse than I have expected. This franchise is in a big trouble, I do not know if people can see that or not. If the fans keep going to ACC, the owners and the management will never get a wake-up call.

hmmm let's see....a defensive minded team that is not defending well with jump shooters who can't shoot and no go-to guy to close out games. They are right where they should be in the standings.

And I still like Lowry, but he was into the pancakes hard during this layoff.

Not sure why Ross got no playing time while they were playing small ... the guy has quicks. He would be a potential liability on turning the ball over.
At least he could of been all over Evans or Young.
Casey has not shown the ability to exert his will on the other teams .. I do realize we have limited talent, but great coaches get the most out of their teams.
It's not time to fire Casey yet, but we need to see what we really have after Lowry gets his legs back.

Looks like Casey has limited X 0 skills ... seems to be more suited to being an Assistant or he needs some one on his staff to take on that role.

That could be it.
An example of Casey's out of bound play: "Demar"
Bargnani was the pathetic key again. When he couldn't secure that ball, Kleiza, Derozan were just shaking their heads..

I think BC has to go. He struck gold, sort of his first year in a weak division and even then we lost in the first round of playoffs to an inferior team and since then it has been all down hill. He is responsible for the talent level on this team and most of our players are horribly inconsistent on both ends of the floor. I doubt we make the playoffs this year and unless we start making roster changes I don't expect this team to get much better.

Oh well there are the Jays, but not even sure of them when AA goes and gets Gibby as manager.

I heard Butch Carter talking on the FAN last week about the reasons good assistant coaches usually fail to become good head coaches.

The reason he said is that while they may know one particular system really well, in the case of Casey it would be Carlisle's Dallas system, he isn't able to adapt to a new system that suits their new team. It's pretty clear that's what is happening in Toronto. Yes, there has been player failure mainly on guys like Bargnani, but at least 3 of our losses have been abject coaching blunders. You have to know different systems and methods of coaching and be able to apply those styles to different teams. A hard-nosed defensive identity for instance can't work with Calderon and Bargnani logging heavy minutes.

Some good insight by Butch Carter, imo.

i knew val wasn't coming back in when there was still about 6 mins left! honestly i did. Coz it's what i DIDN'T want to happen!

That's how i've started to feel about this team. whatever i don't want to happen will happen. Whatever will frustrate me most right now is what will happen!

must admit when amir fouled out i thought "well val will finally be back in now." but when maguire came in i wasn't even surprised.
