Default Final poll before season begins

so I figured it's time to do the final poll on the state of the franchise and the possible futures over the next season.

There are two sections to the poll, so I had to leave it multiple option, but please only check one box in every section, they are fairly mutually exclusive ...

First, my definition of a rebuild would be to trade at least 2 of the group of demar/gay/lowry/amir for incoming rebuilding assets (so trading lowry for say lawson would not count).

question #1 is: How good is this team and how high its ceiling without a rebuild?
question #2 is: Do you think we will start a rebuild this season, and if so, when?

I so look forward to just watching games and seeing what happens rather than dealing with countless abstract notions.

I see us losing games due to our bench. I picture a lot of +10 leads at the end of the 1st quarter, and then being down by half.

I honestly don't see anything concrete to base anything on. Let the games begin. The team either stands or falls based on the way they play. If they play some defense they offer a chance to get better through various means. If they don't play much defense then there's not much point in even discussing a core.

I think the core can be a contender, with the right pieces. our starting 5 was one of the best in th eleague after the gay trade last season, but our bench is horrid. some solid additions this year in novak, TH, and possibly one of the pg's make us playoff runners for 6-8 spots. some more additions to the bench next year, along with improvement to our young in ross and JV could make us a 3-5 seed, making us, in my eyes contenders

The point is to speak your mind now, not after the season starts. Because if we lose 9 of 10, everybody will be on the tanking bandwagon and if we win 9 of 10, the reverse will happen ... now we are somewhat clear thinking, that's why I've set a deadline of 3 days until the poll expires.

My mind is excited at the possibility of seeing some good basketball from a team with a chance for continued growth over time. It's all about legit possibilities - first time in a long time that i've felt that going into a season. I'm not only happy to leave it at that, i'm craving some concrete signs, so i can legitimately think clearly, or at least respond clearly, as a fan. I don't trust the clarity of any thinking that is not based on real causes and effects. I know there is a compulsion on a forum to let go with abstract thoughts, but after a long off-season, and a bunch of bad seasons previous, i'm dying for more.

I guess i can make the one pick that lends itself to possibilities.

I don't agree with any of that, but that doesn't make you wrong. Neither of us know what's going to happen. I would think though we need more than just improved bench to be anywhere close of becoming contender.

We have big man we can build our future around.

The majority of Miami's players are expiring this year. The same could be said about the Chicago Bulls. The New jersey Nets and San Antonio have a very short window for contention.

The majority of our players are reaching their prime or in their prime (Gay and Amir). Lets keep the core for the next couple of years and roll the dice.

poll options in this thread are unnecessary. the other thread's pole is succinct.

I wanted to break it down, not just tank vs non-tank, but also on timing. Although it appears that the majority of tankers believe the team will not survive the season. I happen to be in a minority there, because I think we won't be able to do much, especially on the gay/lowry front due to their expiring status. I'd love to be proven wrong and I'd love it even more if I will be proven wrong on the first question, but I really doubt we'll make big waves this season.
