unfortunately, he waits too long for the play to develop, Im not saying hes perfect, but he does deserve some credit, defense was bad today. But when reading some of this, it sounds like Carter should have got his minutes

I would blame casey for even having him in there, instead of JJ, who came in with 2 something minutes left.

Bayless is as on par with Jennings as a distributor. Also, we know what we have with Jose. We should rest him, let him play 25 mins/game, give JB all the mins he can handle. He actually was an ok starter last year in 14 games:

18.1 apg, 6.7 apg, 3.6 rpg, 1.0 spg, 2.9 to/game, 35.5 mpg, .467 FG %, (6.14 fgm/game, 13.14 fga/game) ,333 3 PT % (1.21 3PTM/game, 3.64 3PTA/game),
.810 FT % (4.57 FTM/game, 5.64 FTA/game).

Problem is coaches tend to favour traditional PGs. Casey though I believe is starting to see that Jose shouldn't be playing more than 25 mins/game due to his D, health and conditioning.

Lastly, why did bayless have to get injured?

I had to miss this one, and only have the boxscore to go by.

What happened with Bayless? Anything major/majorish?

Coaches favour different things depending on their philosohpy. Mike D'antoni favours up tempo offence. Casey favour defence. Jose cannot play either well and Bayless is injured again. Hes got hurt closer to the end of last season only to get hurt after playing a couple games of extended minutes again this season. Is this because of the compressed schedule-keep in mind the Raptors had a day's rest between washington and milwaukee-one could argue. Or is Bayless pushing his limit knowing he needs a contract soon or is he simply injury prone? or could it be something else? Whatever it is, its not all that bad. A higher pick in the draft is what we need this season and Milwaukee was the one of easier home games this stretch.

Just finished watching the entire game and all I'll say is that those of you who are blaming this loss on Jose need to get your heads (or eyes) examined.

This game was lost because we were horrible on the glass and we gave up WAY too many uncontested jumpers. Guys like Delfino, Dunleavy and Jackson just had open 3 after open 3. It was disgusting. And Gooden did whatever he wanted to down low.

I paid close attention to every single assist that Jose got and 12/15 of them resulted in either wide open 3s, layups or dunks.

I also noted the times when he pounded the ball late in the shot clock. Wanna know why that was happening? Because Casey was on the sideline screaming out a play. Jose then called it on the floor and had to wait for his teammates to execute it. If they forget what the play is or take their time making their cuts then he's left there at the top of the key dribbling the ball. The alternative is to disregard the coach's play entirely and freelance it. Jose's a good solider though... so he does what the coach wants. If you want to fault him for that then I'm not sure what to say.

Some other thoughts....

DD shot the ball well but was lacking a bit defensively. If that 3pt shot is going to be consistent he'll be a far better player over the long haul.

JJ had a heck of a game and was probably the best player on the floor for the Raps. They should have gone to him more than they did. Very good on both ends.

Both Bayless and Jose did a nice job passing the ball and setting up their teammates. A shame that Bayless' injury flared up. It's been rare that I've seen him share the ball that well.

If the Raps box out properly and close out hard they would have won this game easy. Too bad.
