Indeed.

Drummond gets 33mpg. Favors gets 32 mpg. Kanter gets 30 mpg. Vucevic gets about 34 mpg. Davis gets 35 mpg.

Other young bigs are getting the necessary minutes to develop their games while JV's growth is being stunted by the coach, some of the other starters, the bigs off the bench and this smallball is a sorry excuse to limit JV's minutes and they are not helping his play. This isn't an established team that has some past credentials of consecutive playoff appearances and/or playoff success where you can justify hindering a centrepiece of the franchise.

T.W.O is going to get a huge boost in the next 2 weeks, and we may finally get our wish of Casey being the first coach to go this year after the West Coast trip, which will then hopefully be a domino effect of Rudy and Lowry next to go.
While the tank did and will get a huge boost, I'd prefer it to get said boost if JV were to play a lot. But hey smallball + RG + DC = tank so hey it's not all bad as you have said.

If we keep losing, Casey will be out, one of his assistants will take his place, who will essentially be a puppet for Masai, and then Ross and JV will be able to develop and play key minutes this season.

I'm trying to think now.... has that ever happened with the Raps? A coach fired in mid-season?

Yeah Mitchells the first one that came to mind.

I was going to say Kevin Oneill too, but I just looked it up and he got fired immediately after the season was over. I cant remember how he lasted the entire year, despite remembering how we started the year, with Michael Curry at SF, and us scoring 75 PPG

Oh it's the depth. How foolish of me not to know that it's the depth! Hibbert has maxed out at under 30 mpg. Were they always so deep?

hmmm...let's see now...his second year the Pacers won 32 games...and Roy played 25 minutes per game..didn't start them all...stunted his growth big time...he surely would have been an 8 footer otherwise.

No I'm arguing for the good of the Raps. The only things that are important is PT for Valanciunas and more losses!

I don't think Casey gets fired, however I do think this roster gets gutted

Nah, he's doing an admirable job tanking and Masai said he won't base Casey's job security on this season's W/L I believe. Not sure how much of this he follows through though.

He averaged 37 mins in the post season when it mattered so I'm quite sure it's more of they don't need him down the stretch than anything. He went 36 mins today in a tight game vs LAC.

lmao

I don't think they made the playoffs with 32 wins. That sort of thing didn't happen back then.

facepalm at the end of that. now who's being the douche.

so we're comparing the situation of one specific C throughout nba recent history to JV which we should follow?

What are you saying? You lost me. Maybe if you just said it instead of always hitching a ride on the points made by others.

And i was being sarcastic yes, but not making smarmy attempts to attribute positions to me that were simply never made.

So, we should just insist that 27 minutes is stunting Jonas' growth, even though there is clear evidence that doesn't have to be the case, and that in a couple years he could be beasting in the playoffs all the same?

I agree that JV's minutes is not that big of a deal. I do think he should play little more, but by no means it's slowing down his development.
However I don't agree that Casey is not responsible for lack of JV's improvement, because as I said before he misuses Jonas and fails to create situations for him to succeed

He's getting 27 mpg yes. But he keeps getting flipped flopped b/w 18 minutes to over 30, etc. Clear evidence of one player on a superior team in terms of talent, management and finance. Idk if you've seen another post of mine in another thread where pretty much all other young prominent bigs like Vucevic, Davis, Favors, Drummond, Kanter are all playing more minutes and getting significant touches and shots/game while JV is faced with this up and down minutes based on what? smallball, players who don't want to get him involved and a coach who submits to the other coaches' will?
