Feschuk: Raptors not sure what they have in Douby

Perhaps it's because he's a classic tweener, smaller, at a wisp-thin 6-foot-3, than the traditional shooting guard, but not possessed of top-notch point-guard skills.

He needs to become Raja Bell.

I thought Anthony Parker was our Raja Bell. :confused2:

Douby reminds me of Jaun Dixon.

Gurk 04-04-2009 09:01 PM

He actually played pretty good defensivly and he got three points. Whats not to like

Jakkal 04-05-2009 12:56 PM

he looked totally lost on defense.

Jay 04-05-2009 11:46 PM

The fact that we are even talking about Douby shows the state of the Raptors guard situation.

LOL:yeah:

He played better tonight. Still a bit lost on defense but it's a new team so it'll take time. At least they can play him regular minutes now and see if he's worth keeping.

He did look good on that one baseline play beating his man so he has some quickness.

Just wish he was taller.

I'm not sure why BC signed him though. If we sign a #2 and re-sign Parker and have Banks next season why have Douby? Unless he thinks he could be the starting #2. :suspicious:

His is probably the thinnest player in the NBA. Showed some decent things though.

Raptorman 04-06-2009 09:43 AM

Did you think San Antonio was desperate when they were talking to Roger Mason?

Sometimes these players just need the right atmosphere. You can get lucky sometimes.

Superjudge 04-06-2009 09:46 AM

yep, ya can.

that said, Douby is a d-leaguer

Claudius 04-06-2009 10:06 AM

Mason was flourishing last year in Washington. It wasn't a secret that he turned out to be good player.

Douby hasn't impressed me. Didn't impress me when we was in Sacramento, hasn't impressed me here. Maybe he should try Europe.

Superjudge 04-06-2009 10:10 AM

He'd kill it in the Hoopdome league.

Admiral 04-06-2009 02:24 PM

whatever, he doesn't fit into any particular aspect of the game that we are seriously lacking and is so deep into the bench he is a non-factor
he's no jamario in that he'll come flying out of nowhere with athleticism to catch anyone's eye, he's not the slasher we're looking for and our true need is a upper level slasher anyways
he's basically here just to play in practices in replace of banks so i don't think we really care what we have in him, besides, he could always just get an invite for next season and then we can get a better look at him compared to other guys trying out for the team
