don't you think barg > one of the top 5 pick this year ?

Centers are a crap shoot. i wouldn't draft a center with a top 5 pick unless it's pretty much a sure thing. i would trade Bargnani for a sf or PG, sign the best center you can in the summer and draft either a PG or SF depending on who you trade Bargs for. And then trade jose for depth.

It's hard for me to see the Raptors getting a really good center any way other than the draft. Quality centers are rare and generally don't get traded (except maybe for another center).

A free agent signing would be great, and may be more (but probably less) likely with the new CBA. I would think that part of the new CBA will be rules preventing free agent super teams from forming.

I guess we'll all have to wait and see what the new rules will be. Maybe revised salary cap rules could make it more difficult for certain teams to resign their own players, leaving a team with cap space like the Raptors the possibility of stealing a FA or two.

Its hard to draft a good C. Those come like every 3-5 years. We could land a Dwight or a Thabeet. But for me, the PG and C position need to be addressed. JJ at the SF is good for and with Kleiza coming back next year, I don't think the SF position is a problem now.

We won't get Curry. They might part with Ellis/Biedrins but would probably take at least Bargs, Bayless, 2 picks. And even that might not do it. I'd give them anything they wanted other then Derozan, Davis to get Ellis here.

Ellis
Derozan
T. Jones
Davis
Biedrins

or

Irving
Ellis
Derozan
Davis
Biedrins

why? we already have derozan here, why bring in another sg? and imo ells is overrated. hes good, dont get me wrong but i dont think hes the type of material we should be looking into. and dont say DD will play sf because we all know he cant. we need to bring in an sf. maybe biedrins plus wright for Bargnani plus exp?

Bargs probably can't net a top 5 pick, sadly, however this year that shouldn't be such a bad thing - this draft, aside from Irving IMO who has superstar potential, is shaping up to be the Bargs draft all over again. It's neither deep nor that talented - not superstar talent anyways. It's looking very much like the 2006 draft and almost nothing like 2005's draft. Look them up and be shocked at the talent difference.

Basically youth + flexibility.
This. Demar, Ed, and a top 5 pick this summer give me something to look forward to. People can't see that Bargs will be traded, and also we'll be able to add better complimentary role players in the near future.

its hard to argue against BC, we got two 20 point scorers on this team, both are young and both haven't hit the peak of there games yet

we have a high draft pick, and salary cap room to spend, where actually better off then we were last year because we were just battling for a a 8th seed, it seems like our team has a bright future if BC makes hte right moves,

its clear that BC can draft, Bargnani, Derozan, and Davis all lottery picks by BC have all been a success in my opinion, even though it took Bosh leaving for Bargs to step up

Bargs is better than all those players, why would we trade Bargs for that, and Ellis he doesn't play team ball,

Bargs is better than Bosh,

why do all threads always end up in some random trade talk
usually that just signals the end of the thread
