Come on man, Antonio Davis was a superstar, Ed Davis.... is a skinny guy that has potential. Lets not start claiming him top three PF in the league just yet.
Weren't you trying to type "Anthony Davis is going to be a superstar"?

'Cause I'll have a much easier time believing that statement. During the "Pacers Dynasty" years (and I wouldn't call it that either), AD was coming off the bench behind Smits and bigger, stronger Dale Davis. He only started in TO and his only All-Star appearance came during 00-01 season, also with the Raps. Superstar he wasn't, barely a star, a good role player would be a more accurate description.

I'll preface this by saying that I agree Davis needs to put on some weight...but the NBA isn't the slugfest it was 15 years ago when Charles Barkley spent 20 seconds every shot clock backing down from the threepoint line to the post.

Look around the league - all the vets have been slimming down for the past 5 years or so. Whenever a veteran has a comeback year it's because they slimmed down.

Considering how nimble Davis is and that nimbleness being his strenght, he should be wary of mindlessly adding weight. Strength should be a key goal, and weight gain will come with that, but he needs to stick with what he's good at.

a nimble big man is good to keep up with the slim finesse big men that are becoming the norm in the nba. however adding weight and becoming a bully in the paint would gain the upper hand in matchups. look at dwight (not comparing ed davis to dwight howard in any way) but he dominates down low against anyone because of his traditional big man playing style. we could use someone similar to that

Deal you can't pass up here:

Babbitt, 2nd round pick, and 10 cases of each of the different brands and flavors of distinctive Oregon microbrews (there's like 20 quality companies here.
20 x 5(flavors) x (12 x 10) = 12,000 delicious beers) for ED, c'mon guys

come on mike, he was a stategic 6 man who provided more than Davis. And yes, he was a star on that team, and an all star in toronto.
