Exclamation Fans Voice Displeasure with Refs

Man last night game was amazing. For all of those how didnít hear it the crowd (me included) were chanting Bullshit bullshit because of the insanely bad calls those refs were throwing out at us (and us only).

I thought the start of the season was going to see the regular ref back in the game. I couldnít tell but were those still the D refs because the bullshit calls they were making (especially against Bargs) were just completely ridiculous and garbage. I think two times in the second half we had like a string of constant bad fouls. As a result the bullshit chants started to fly and as lebron took his free throws he was getting riddled with bullshit chants (and actually missed one!).

If these were the regular refs well then those three guys need to be fired, and fast cause they really were calling some stinky bullshit!

No regular refs.

The broadcasters mentioned they hadn't had any preseason warm up games lol.

there was one bullshit call, and one bullshit chant. by and large the refs were just fine last night. shaq and lbj are going to get some calls. no biggie. it's about how our guys react, and last night they reacted perfectly and got the win.

the reffing was vastly better than in the preseason.

there were normal refs in the cavs-celts game, i can only imagine that they were there last night too.

I don't know Trane, i was pretty dissapointed with the officiating.

Missed charge on Bosh and Jack's fantom 3 were two of the worst.

I also thought a few of Cleveland's continuations came out of no where.

and just a lot of ticky tack garbage (mostly on Bagnani)

Bosh charge
phantom foul on Mo by Jack
couple of calls on Bargs and one on Wright
and the 2nd And1 that LeBron got

other than that it was better that pre season officiating

I really believe its the name in the back of your jersey that give you the benefit of alot of calls. Also the really bad refs, like Dick Bavetta, its the color of your jersey.

I disagree sternly, heh, the refs are always the same, giving calls to stars for zero reason, Hack a Shaq is usually the case, so they make those calls, Bargnani (NBA officials regular whipping boy) barely touches this guy and gets a call. It's just sad is all.

That said, we have our own stars, stars that NEED to look at this and use it for thier own benefit. Bosh can get those calls too if he stays consistant (last night from what I saw was awesome on his part), Bargnani, can change his own fate with the officials if he stays focused, stays aggressive, and simply demands that they start seeing him as a star.

I want to be clear, I hate NBA refereering, and I think our guys get screwed, Bargnani mostly, HOWEVER, Bargnani HAS to change it himself. 10 gamnes in a row of 25 points, and mixing it up with dunks and jumpers will FORCE these guys to make calls, and they will, and they will be happy to.

Reffing was horrible last night, plain and simple - particularly, the blocking foul they called on Bosh in the 4th quarter. I still don't have any voice last night from yelling so much last night.

your last point is exactly right sj. nba players get calls once they prove themselves (unless you are lbj in which case you always get calls). that's the way it has always gone, right or wrong. Bosh got a ton of calls last night. he gets to the line pretty much every time he goes to the rim. and he should, because that's the way it works.

bargs has been weak and hesitant in the past, so he doesn't get calls. if he becomes a consistent threat, the refs will start to give him credit for that.

i also agree that reffing in the nba is generally pretty bad, but i also think it's a tough game to call. it was quite clear to me last night, though, that the refs were a hell of a lot better than in teh preseason, and they generally did a pretty good job. there were a few calls both ways that were questionable. i got up in my seat and yelled, as a fan should, but at the end of the day i really don't think the raps got jobbed.

since they won I cannot complain
I think players know if they play certain teams they have to make up for refs calls, it might not be fair but thats how things are dome in the league

But seriously, there were so many foul calls last night. Check the box score and see how many guys have 4 and 5 fouls last night - a pretty high amount. Bosh, Wright and Bargnani had 5 fouls each. On the Cavs side, Sideshow, MoWilliams had 5 each as well. Fat-ass had 4. So many calls really takes away from the flow of the game.

trane, my only point of contention is with Bargs. He was the #1 pick and they treate dhim like shit from day one. Unheard of.

Its not the foul calls as much as it's the travelling calls, and the stats guys not recording all his blocks. its a respect thing, and it has to change.

my point was that he has gotten calls since day 1, before he ever proved himself in the nba. nice little mischaracterization though... well done.

LOL

You mischaracterized LBJ. Even if he did as a rookie now he's proven so it's totally irrelevant.

no doubt, but he really did nothing to deserve it. in teh context of nba officiating, he wasn't making the plays to warrant the calls. at least never consistently. if he puts the package together, he'll ge the respect. we;ll have this discussion again after christmas and see how things have gone.
