Fans at the game are fucking idiots

I know we had this discussion before but it deserves re mentioning, that booing one of your best players in a time of struggling is fucking stupid. Then he goes out and is probably the main reason we win the game and the same people were probably cheering him on. Its not like he wasnt trying out there once he got back from injury. Our idiot fairweather fanbase should stop being such hypocritical cunts and instead encourage their team and players when theyre struggling instead of just making things worse

Belsius 03-26-2008 10:22 PM

Yep, but this not only in basketball its on every sport. I understand booing a player that hasnt been given it all. But a player that works his ass off and things are just not working for him?

Blah blah blah blah blah...Take your own advice about Sam if you honestly believe this Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah

I choose to hate and boo them both.

Sick, Wicked and Nasty! 03-26-2008 10:53 PM

While not as passionate and forthcoming in my diction, I agree with Thriller on this one.

Raptorman 03-26-2008 11:07 PM

Gotta disagree.

TJ played great at first. He was distributing the ball and taking smart shots.

We have all seen and now recognize Me-J when he enters a game. He showed up and the fans let everyone know that ME-J wont be tolerated.

I hate the old "I pays for the ticket so I cans boo" attitude. This was Toronto fans letting ME-J know he isnt welcome.

You guys make me laugh.

Thi sain't peewee Soccer, it's professional Sports entertainment.

Fans don't owe players shit.

You're living in a sad little dreamworld of wonder if you're so caught up in your love for some schmuch becaus he can play a sport well that you get angry at people that Boo him.

Ya bunch of pansies. Y'all don't mind when they cheer. Why ya gotta cry like little children when they boo?

Thi sain't amateur sport, this is pro sports, it's ALL about money, and enterprise, and profit. If allowing fans to vent after work, and boo when a guy is sucking balls keeps his ass in the seats, then so be it. Think Ford gives a flyng fuck that they Boo?? Or do you think that these people payin ghis fucking salary booing tickle his ass pink everytime he cashes his paycheque.

Honeslty, you guys show a level of nievity on this subject I just can't swallow without ranting a little. It reminds me of Flea in "The Big Lebowski" when he whines "Its not fairrrr".

Suck it up.

Ps. Toronto fans, contrary to what is posted repeatedly, are some of the smartest and most critical around. I'd be a little more worried if all they did was nonsensically cheer like 8 year olds no matter the situation.

Ps. The booing started when the whining, and the selfish play, and the fucking baby tantrums started, not when he got hurt. He asked for it, he gets it.

OMG the 'e' made me spit out my water.

Kuzzy 03-27-2008 12:43 AM

Tjs just a better scorer and has shown times where he can be a unstoppable facilitator.
Rasho/Bargs is stupid.
Bargs confidence just went down deep into the negatives.
As for the raptors?
Whole lot of wins on our way!

Krazy Ivan 03-27-2008 08:12 AM

I, myself, loved when crowd booed TJ after ill advised, failed 3 point attempt...

Yeah, after the ball was thrown to him with 3 seconds left on the clock he should've just ate it and not bothered trying to get off a shot. :haha:

raptor123 03-27-2008 08:27 AM

Sorry guys I just moved my say to this thread.

Well it was a great win last night. I had the priviledge to watch the game at ACC and was happy for our guys to see us take one from the Pistons. Jose Calderon some day will be a great Coach. The guy is always directing traffic on the court and always talking to coach Mitch. Even when Jose was on the court he was directing TJ were to go. The 2 best players last night were Rasho and Jose. Both these guys played good defence. If you don't see a raptors game live you should go see one what a differance then watching on t.v.
The first half TJ was getting booed pretty good and when he missed that shot in the second quarter it got pretty ugly in my section. I thought TJ played very well and it was great to see. He seemed to be relaxed, I really believe TJ has a mental issue regarding starting and minutes played. Believe it or not TJ was very threatened by the play of Jose as a starter, this issue just made him play like a wild man. As a starter you will see TJ play more composed.Jose did not miss a beat coming off the bench he actually got us the big lead and he finally played the fourth quarter to solidify the big Win for us.
Finally I want to conclude that TJ must get some P.R. training. He is just brutal during interviews. Once again on the 590 TJ continues to put his foot in HIS mouth. In a game where even I enjoyed the improvement in play from TJ, TJ probably just got more fans to hate him. The reason why I say this is because at the end of the game Leo was interviewing Jose about giving up the starters role at center court. Jose just talked about making the team better. Jose is one of a kind and young players and NBA players should take notice. Anyway while Jose was getting the interview TJ was being interviewed on the radio. All TJ wanted to talk about was about Me J, HE talked about how he can dictate the flow of the game as a starter. TJ wake up dawg ,Jose dictated the game more then you did and he came off the bench. He also said when you come off the bench that you never know how many minutes you will get. TJ wake up dawg going to the starters role was not a promotion. Anyway TJ has alot of growing up to do . Can he be that stupid, or does he have a problem expressing himself. Like I stated earlier TJ needs to hire a P.R. guy.Everything that comes out of his mouth makes him sound like a selfish son of a bitch. Hopefully Jose can shake some sence into him because the boos that he heard last night will get louder regardless how he plays and for our team to play well we need all the raptor fans cheering for all our guys.

good post Raptor123.

I agree with you about how dramatically different Tj and jose are not only as players, but also as people.

It's frsutrating as a fan, because TJ seems like he genuinely wants the team to succeed, but for whatever reason, he just doesn't show it / express it properly.

And yeah, general fans will naturally get on a guy's case if he doesn't appear to say or do the right things. I do think TJ is misunderstood for the large part, but i also think a lot of that is his own doing.

Oh well, Calderon is the man either way!

Sick, Wicked and Nasty! 03-27-2008 08:51 AM

I urge members not to formulate opinions on who these players are as people by their interviews with the media...can't stress that enough. The truth is you won't get to know who they are as people unless you get to know them.

Let's just appreciate what they do on the court and for the community. The fact both men give everything on the floor and to the Toronto community is good enough for me.

Superjudge 03-27-2008 08:59 AM

you should work for the team.

No.

Issue was that TJ entered game in 2nd quarter with 3:15 minutes left until half time and in those 3 minutes besides Bosh who had a dunk it was only TJ who took shots... he took 3 shots, none good and missed them all of them... that's why the crowd got pissed. :frustrated:

Have in mind that before TJ entered the game Raps were up by 5 points and by the end of the half they were 2 points down...

right, maybe we should let their actions speak instead ... wait, that doesn't work either with TJ, I guess short of inviting him to tea, we'll never get to know the "real" TJ Ford.

Hey, hi Chuck... when did you joined RF? :confused2:

Difference between Jose and TJ can be summarized below:

"I went to (coach Sam Mitchell) because I thought we needed to change something because something wasn't working," said Calderon, who had 13 points and four assists in 27 minutes. "I think it's a team thing, we needed something. We didn't know exactly what was the problem and we still don't know if it is this, but the good news is we won, it's good for the Raptors, good for the team and that's what we have to think all the time."

I don't think it's because of the way anyone has been playing,” Ford said before last night’s game. “Jose has been great as a starter, same thing with Bargnani. I guess this is the time to start to search, try to find some type of momentum, something that works, and I think that's what this is all about.”

There was another quote how TJ said Jose was growing as a player by making this move. I can't find it but I find it ironic that TJ called Jose's move a "growing" experience so WTF does that make TJ's transition? The "ungrowing".
