6. JJ
7. Kleiza
8. Amir
9. Davis
10.-14. (FA/Trades)
15. Forbes

Basically 2 starting spots should be upgraded, placing two of our current starters on the bench which makes us a deeper team (JJ & Amir?). Maybe Barbosa is re-signed placing him in the 6 or 7th spot. And if we can get a top 6-7 pick, obviously he'd likely be somewhere in the top 10 as well.
This is exactly what I pray does not happen. This team is re-building, or building, or whatever. Primarily it is looking to construct a solid core to go along with the new cultural foundations. If there are guys on this roster that fit with that plan, then they should be held onto, unless another team holds out for them in deals that need to be made. If guys are not the best fit in the plan, then they should be moved for guys that can be better fits. Worrying too much about who starts and who doesn't, and who gets to be the primary or secondary option, is just getting ahead of where they are at. Everything needs to be about making the team work, and upgrading the talent anywhere possible in ways that the right team framework will magnify and bolster - thus producing the much needed core. There's just no room for random assessments and lists at this point.

Not Bayliss.

The other guys ya, why do we disagree? I'm talking about a winner, like the whole thing. You have to have role guys, typically with experience, or younger players with a lot of actual talent.

Guys I see on Toronto as good pieces for a team:

Calderon Bargs Barbosa.... Barbosa only because of his experience, and lets face it, he's doing his own crap out there on this team, on a good team he's valuable.

Bench wise:

DD - good young player, but just not there yet, not playoff material....yet.
JJ - I actually like what he brings at the three, great role player and is getting better. He's big and strong for the three and can com ein during a playoff game and handle the real NBA grind.

Kleiza - I'd actually use him as a 2-3 on certain teams to bring size to sets just to change pace and fuck with other teams.

Amir and Davis..... right now, not davis....he's just not good, he's too small. He's a developmental rook on a good team...... I like him, but its weird.... I just think he's years away from good at his size. Amir is an advanced version of Davis, he's 4-5 years ahead of him so I'd take him over Davis...

Gray is a good third center.... he'd be my scrub big... bring him in to pound guys like howard and Pau...use his fouls etc.

one thing going for them, they're a good character bunch
they are fighting hard, even the chuckers are playing fairly hard game in and game out
they're not very skilled to put it mildly, but save for some minor rumbles, the spirit has been high and we're playing way above our talent level

most games are surprisingly entertaining and despite the clear need to lose every game, you can't help but root for the win when you see the effort.

I think this team had the fewest bad losses (games where they don't show up) of every team in the last many seasons, must have been fewer than 4 or 5 this year.

I don't think this team is talentless just because we've competed with pretty much everyone this season. Either we've won against them or we've won against them going into the fourth where we crumble. Maybe more credit going to Casey than players.

I'd be going after Iguodala in the offseason as well with a couple of our young pieces. Eventually Philly is going to go in another direction and likely give Turner his shot to shine, and Iguodala loves Toronto. He'd be a great fit here. Hes a fantastic all around player and would fit in to Caseys system flawlessly.

I watched a couple clips of him in his rookie year as well as his third year and he said Toronto was his favorite NBA city.

I wouldn't say every Raptor is a keeper, the 3rd string guys are just that.

Bargs and Calderon are currently our only true starters.

Barbosa, Bayless, Davis, Derozan, Gray, Kleiza, Johnson & Johnson I wouldn't mind any of them as Bench players.

If we can keep these guys, get Val and good wing player in the draft. I can definately see us making the playoffs.

Naw, one of the videos was a 1 hour rookie profile type show on NBA TV back in the day, and he was on the bus with all the other rookies going to the rook/soph game I believe, and they asked him which city he liked the most. The other instance I cannot recall.

Philly is going one direction, which is the play together and play basketball to win direction, I can't see them parting with IGGY.

Lat night he fell back into pulling up on the fast break, and failing to turn the corner or penetrate with any real intentions. For the value that he might be able to bring back, it would be too easy to trade him and look for any other pg to fill his role, likely with better defense. Bargnani could bring back even more, while allowing team defense to become that much more stifling in his absence.

The team I see taking shape is one that gets stops and gets points off that defense as well as executing well as a unit on offense. Bargnani, Jose, Barbosa, and Bayless would be the easy targets as guys that could be moved to help get them get closer to that goal. Guys like JJ, Amir, and Kleiza could be guys that might need to be included in deals. Ed is not going anywhere at this point. He has a chance to become an impact guy. And Demar isn't going to bring that much back relative to what he still might provide.
Regarding Jose thats kind of what I meant, keep him for value as a trade asset if nothing good enough comes our way this year. Shop him next year at the deadline hoping he has another productive year next year, also being an expiring you never know what kind of interest there could be.

Out of the rest, I'd love it if we could keep JJ for a solid guy off the bench, love his game.

Agreed. I just think we might have to look at giving a guy like him up to get something done. I could live with him as a starter.
