Maybe because we had good defenders, a center, and Bargnani barely got playing time under him.

He had a lot of talent, but mostly used wrong players. Chuckers like Llull, Tucker always was on the floor. Lowest bb IQ players earned his trust. With him, Weems would be Raptors first option guys.
Last 2 years, both, Messina and Real were pathetic. Top 5 worst EL coach.

Kevin O'Neill was a defensive guru.....

I'd imagine he'd be a good coach in the NBA

selective....even then we were heavily criticized for defense....and rebounding as well....i remember some of those years he coached we were one of the worst rebounding teams in the league....and one of the main reasons he got fired is because the team was playing lazy defense and allowing teams like atlanta, utah, and denver to humiliate us

Lol I still remember that Denver game... it was the worst game in franchise history.

i don't want a HC with no NBA experience and has never had success. we tried smitch/triano. it's time to get back to the basics and hire JVG as HC and if BC leaves barkley. why not give those guys a shot since we won't be anywhere good for another 3-5 seasons.

Ok about no NBA experience, although BB is BB. But never had succes? He won eurolegue 4 times with 2 different teams, 8 national championship in 2 different countries and many other lesser competitions.
I think he would definatly be better than many NBA HCs.
