Could it be our year to surprise?

David Thorpe from ESPN thinks so.

David Thorpe: (12:22 PM ET ) It's all about JO.

Eriqua (Toronto): Can my Raptors win the Atlantic this year?
David Thorpe: (12:51 PM ET ) Yes.

I think the most logical thing is:
1)Celtics
2)Raptors
3)76ers

I think wade is so hungry of wins that he will be an MVP candidate.

Although they're not in the Atlantic, you guys got Detroit way too low on your lists and their team is still intact

Miami is in trouble minutes wise with Wade/Beasley/Marion (no way can Marion play the 5). Nonetheless, Wade plus anyone is scary, let alone those two. They will most definitely go small at times this year, and tempt teams to run with them. Against our lineup, in theory, it should fail because of our size up front, but we all know the history of the Raptors interior D...

Aside from being pathetically weak in the middle, Miami is a scary team this year. They have a bunch of options to try out at PG (Mario Chalmers could become good one day, Chris Quinn is unselfish albeit a bit crappy so far in his young career, and Marcus Banks could be decent off the bench.) They have a lot of young guys who could become decent - Dorrell Wright (who's just 22!), Yakhouba Diawara, Chalmers and of course Michael Beasley.

What about a line-up of
PG-Wade
SG-Marion
SF-Beasley
PF-Wright
C-Blount or Mourning if healthy

I think this is very likely. I don't think we'll be much worse or much better than Philly, at best the difference between the two teams will be 3-4 games. I just think Philly plays harder and plays better defense than us, simple as that.

yep.

ut over all product, philly is ACTIVE on D, toronto lacks in that dept. And the one guy that would get messy, Dragon Ball Z, he bolted for Euro 2009.

So ya, Philly has an edge there.
