Default ESPN's Franchise Rankings: Raptors 25th in NBA

And we're 103rd out of 122 total franchises (NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL). The only respectable mark we have is in coaching (40th out of 122, 13th in the NBA). Our players are ranked 25th in the league.

Here's the NBA table: Ultimate Team Rankings - NBA - SportsNation - ESPN

And their methodology is here: Methodology behind Ultimate Standings - ESPN The Magazine - ESPN

As much as I love being a Raptors fan, it has sucked for about 75% of the time over the last few years. So, hard to really argue with these standings, however worthless they may be.

Leafs at the bottom

I don't understand how they rate stadium quality. how can the ACC be both #81 and #98 in quality?

Stadium Experience (STX): Quality of arena and game-day promotions as well as friendliness of environment.

I guess Portland took a shit in that ranking. Dropped like 50 spots this year. ESPN hates us.

Just noticed that the Lakers are ranked lower than the Blue Jays.

At least the Raptors are ahead of the Knicks.....Leafs at the bottom, interesting. Now only if a Canadian University could conduct a similar study and can conclude to the same thing, maybe then ownership will have been lit a fire under their ass.....meh,maybe not. They'll still be rich off them alone.

It is,in my opinion the worst part is that the same people who control and own the team, own some of the media outlets that cover the team so optimism is constantly preached when their isn't and hasn't been much to cheer about.

Jays - no post season appearance in nearly 20 years
Raptors - made it past the first round of the playoffs just once in franchise history(nearly 20 years of existence)
TFC - never made the post season and MLS bottom feeder
Leafs - well, you know whole the story already..but for newbies, haven't made the playoffs since the last lockout ended.
Bills(Rogers adopted NFL team sort of)- longest playoff appearance drought in the NFL dating back to the 99-2000 season..

Rogers has a stake, investment or some type of business cahootes with all of these teams. Not blaming them but...

Man it was hilarious listening to the clueless leaf fans calling into the fan this morning to whine about the fact that their precious shithole of a team is ranked last.

I didn't hear one calling actually understand what the ranking was about. A few of them were so close too. Example: "I wish I could go to more leafs games, too bad the prices are some of the highest in the league, and I wouldn't pay for a team that's missed the playoffs for 7 straight years. BUT THE LEAFS CAN'T BE LAST" ... ... So close.

Yeah, one guy said he was so upset he couldn't see straight. Lol

People on and on talking about how the Leafs are one of the best franchises in the world......"Do these people know who Conn Smythe was".....

McCowan yesterday said CityTv came to his house to do a story on it. It's pretty ridiculous the attention this gets. First of all, the leafs are a joke but secondly this type of list is all kinds of stupid. Why give it this much attention.

well even then the quality could be different as the stadium might work better for basketball than hockey, even seating changes depending on the sport
