When you have a town that elects to put a gay MLS Soccer team in front of NBA team, you have a serious sports awareness problem in that town.

people in seattle didn't want to lose the team
new owner wanted to move. wanted people to pay for his new arena and the lease expired

The MLS team already had a stadium thanks to taxpayers and the Blazers owner

I hope TOR lands an NFL team, and soon. Bring the Bills in, or maybe the Jags. How one of the largest metro areas in N.A. doesn't have an NFL team is beyond me.

They might have made that point because it has something to do with the fact that a hockey rink is substantially larger than a basketball court so the lower-bowl seats might be affected in terms of both number and configuration.

Also, all three of our major teams are currently in some phase of rebuilding, so their point is fairly moot. Instead of focusing on the negative, let me make a bold prediction; Toronto will win a professional league championship, be it the Raptors, Leafs or Jays, in the next decade.

Were more likely to get an NFL team and win that before any of those 3 win anything. BUT if I had to pick one, I'd say the Jays.

If I had to bet on 1 team not winning this decade... it would be the Raps
I would confidently wager my savings on that

ESPN newscasters always fall to the norm. Once Raps or any other Toronto team wins anything, ESPN will start hailing us. Always with the norm.
