That's actually not a bad deal. There is no chance Marion uses his ETO for next season. The raps are doing Dallas a big favour by ridding them of slightly over 9 million next season. Dallas is all about financial flexibility at the moment. I'd add in AA or MP and get a 2nd rounder too. Or, Jose for Marion and a pick +/or Beaubois.

Calderon for Duhon/Blake/Clark (or Ebanks) from LAL? Duhon is partially guaranteed I believe at 3.5M with Steve Blake at 4M both expiring next year. Earl Clark plays either SF or PF and could work out well given the minutes comes at 1M is also expiring, same for Ebanks.

He's expiring, has already requested a trade and is not really wanted in TOR. You get back 2 point guards on cheaper contracts with a prospect at either the SF or PF position (both if it's Earl Clark) for 1M a piece. All at less than the 10M Calderon's making for this season.

Yup he has highflying mentor written on him. Be sure to throw in a couple of second round picks in the deal.

Don't see how. Future for Calderon/Lowry seems short here. Understandable that you'd be more reluctant on Lowry because you paid a draft pick for him but he'll be looking to test free agency next year anyway.

I did post that trade on RealGM but there's other scenarios around that. Also it's the 15th so summer signed players can now be traded.

exactly, in that trade we end out on the short end like crazy, espcially seeing what minny and the lakers got, no way we give up both jose and lowry.

You're losing Jose this year already with him expiring and requesting a trade decreasing the value of your return. You could package Lowry with Bargnani next year like you said but you'd have to take back a bad contract possibly and a team who's certain on keeping Lowry/Lowry wanting to stay. Barea/Ridnour are not terrible replacements for a older PG and a young 1 that isn't committed to the team.

Anyone who thinks a player can't be traded while injured doesn't know sports.

Then try a trade with two injured players: Bargnani + Kleiza for Granger. Both Granger and Bargnani could be back in february.

Trading Caldy when he is playing solid makes sense ... If Caldy demonstrated with being okay as the back-up ... not in words but in his play, he would be a solid back-up on a strong contender.
Caldy is not our future, but he is solid traditional PG ... see if you can get some assets / draft ... if you can't, his contract expires and that won't be the end of the world.
