Backup. Do you think he's going to come in and start right away?

I could see a rotation of Davis, Gasol, Jonas... with Jonas coming off the bench to play BOTH PF and C.

Wow this is the first time I've heard the Raptors front office being aggressive. They are usually passive as fuck.

Gasol isn't going to leave Memphis. To much of a home town connection. He'll stay for a smaller contract. You have to figure the knicks & the heat are going to be in pusuit of these guys as well. I think will be settling for Okur or Hawes.

I'd only go after Gasol. Chandler/Nene makes no sense at this point, theyre both going to be 30+next year. Gasol is 26.Makes no sense to get a center who only has 3 maybe 4 good ryears left who are injury prone and arent going to take you anywheere.

Gasols agent should be seeking more than 9 mil wow

Hate to break it to everyone, but there is NO WAY IN HELL we are getting Chandler or Nene or Gasol. I found number reports on what they are looking for and the salaries are through the roof.

According to sources, Nene, Chandler and Gasol all set their early asking prices in the neighborhood of maximum-contract territory, starting at $14.8 million for Gasol, $17.7 annually for Nene, and $20.7 million for Chandler.

Here is the link: NBA teams slow to jump into shallow free-agent pool - Sam Amick - SI.com

No ... No ... No .. To all 3 free agents

No easy fixes in raptor land ... Let the kids play for one year under Casey .. Draft and then go for free agents next year

Would be interesting to see Chandler and Valanciunas on the same roster, two similar players

Why? With the draft loaded with big-time PFs, with Val waiting in Lithuania and Bargs, Davis and Amir under contracts, why go after big men now?

This team needs one thing above all else - a super-star. Since the draft is the only place we could get one, anything that would spoil our draft positioning should be considered as not worth doing.

If someone actually gives Chandler the max, I will be shocked.

Donnie Nelson is going to have to get hella creative to build a solid team to try and defend their title this year.
