I just saw this video and the comments made about Bosh possibly going to Detroit.

Now, I understand those short-minded/ignoranus type of fans (down south), but I honestly thought that at least these "NBA analysts" (often ex-players) would be a bit different when talking about Toronto (and Canada).

I mean, they SHOULD know the type of team/organization we are and the type of fan-base Raptors have. I expect something like this from the American media (espn, fox, tnt...etc.) but not from the NBA TV. Hasn't CWeb made a simillar comment about our taxes or something - not that long ago?!

Yea but now he's going to be standing still when Iverson and Rodney Stuckey blow by him.

Boozer will be in Detroit in 2009

More intriguing still is the post-Rasheed era, which will take bloom this summer when Wallace ($13.7 million) and Iverson ($20.8 million) provide Detroit with almost $35 million in cap relief. The Pistons will have myriad options: They could use their newfound cap space to recruit a max free agent -- Carlos Boozer is likely to be the top potential free agent next summer -- or they could re-sign Wallace at a reduced number and still have enough to trade for a max talent from a team looking to shed salary.

You forgot that Dumars traded Darko Milicic for the right to draft Rodney Stuckey, the starting PG on the Pistons

Dumars has shown the Midas touch in making risky moves. Whether it's making trades for Rip Hamilton and Rasheed Wallace, drafting Tayshaun Prince, signing Billups to a big deal or letting Ben Wallace go, Dumars has proven he knows what he's doing.

Whats wrong with you guys with Calderon and his d. If you watch the game closely Calderon not only runs the offence but is argubly the most vocal player on the Raptors on getting guys into position. He does a very good job in angling and moving the player to where he will get support. He plays good team d. All this talk about players blowing by him just makes me laugh. The fastest point guard in the league is TJ Ford he can blow by anyone in the NBA so why is he not a super star.Being in the right place at the right time compensates for lack of foot speed. Jose has the smarts and the heart and is very underated on what he does on defence.

Are we seeing the same Calderon? Do you even know how defence is played in basketball or are you SO in love with Calderon that it makes you blind?

He's right, Claudius. My city basketball team in grade 10 was a bunch of white, non-lock-down defenders from the suburbs, but we managed to beat teams (and finish third in the province to boot) that were more athletic than us by communicating and playing solid team defense.

Yes Jose is not Bruce Bowen on the ball, so you can't expect him to be. The Raptors have committed to playing a team style D and if Jose is communicating, directing, and facilitating the team defense, then I don't know how much more you can ask of him.

Oh I know about directing and all that crap. But he is a terrible on the ball defender. Anyone, and I mean anyone can be a good defender. Doesn't take that much, but I'll honestly say he's the worst PG defender in the league, worst than Nash. A PG should be a good defender because it's their job to disrupt the other teams offence.

Jose doesn't do this.

I'm not a big fan of Jose's clap in the shooter's face D.

For some reason it bothers me.

As I told SJ during the Halloween game, I think Calderon is the most underrated player on the team.

He's friggin' gold. My new favourite player, strictly for un-sexual reasons.

(Yes Doc, I'm referring to my Parker love )

Hey Claudy you question what I see in Jose Calderon and his defence. Well I all I can say is that you have the right to your opinion, however you lack understanding of team defence. Calderon has the ability to break down PG'S in this league on the dribble, however he chooses to run the offence. He does and has demonstrated that he can attack with those same slow feet lol that you see on defence. Everyone sees the game differantly whether you played the game or not everyone will have an opinion and I respect yours. I don't like everything that Calderon does hell it bothers me when he goes around high fiving regardless what just occured on the floor whether it was good, bad or ugly. Anyway in conclusion the Pistons will have a differant look against us on Wednesday if AI is in the line up. We have a better chance I believe in defeating the Pistons with AI as their point guard. If AI plays his typical game and shuts out his new mates by chucking alot of shots we will not only win but will defeat them by 10 or more points. If AI is not in the line up I actually think it would be a tougher game for us as the Pistons run a strong team oriented offence that excels on Team Defence.

Wifey thinks he looks funny, but she literally love the way he dribbles the ball.

Says he is always in control.

Does BC stay?
Does Bargnani develop?
How does Calderon do?
Is he in search of more fame?

I could go on, but you get my drift.

exactly.
I have many hypotheticals myself but all we can really do is sit and wait,
something I find raptor fans aren't very good at!! Thanks to J.O we will have a decent record for the next 2 seasons and thats going to really help the fans+media not go ape shit on our raps

LOL pretty similar with my GF: she also says Calderon is "funny looking" and that he talks funny, but thinks he's a great player and whenever he brings the ball up court she says "he's so fast!"
