Brooks gave the Raptors double love saying that following the Pistons trade of Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess to Denver, Toronto could emerge as the #2 team in the Eastern Conference.

No.In the end he won't even be in the top 5 in MVP voting.Unless he keeps averaging 25+PPG/10+RPG which i doubt he will. I'm guessing 23-24PPG/9RPG

The MVP will be between Kobe/CP3/LBJ!

Does 1-2 pts and 1-2 rebounds really make the difference between him being a key player for MVP?

Do you think it has more to do with stats or the Raptors position in the standings by the end of the year.

More then anything, playing in Canada Bosh would need 25+PPG and Howard like 14-15RPG to even be in the conversation.

When I look at Toronto now I see a team structured a lot like Colangelo's Suns teams. They don't run it as fast as Colangelo's Suns teams but that's more due to the coach's style at this point than the teams ability to do it.

You have a pass first star PG who can score at will. You have a tough defending 2 who can hit the three. You have a highly versatile 3 who does a little of everything. You have an all-star 4 and an all-star 5; one is one of the most prolific scorers in the league and the other is a mean son of a bitch in the paint who intimidates and gets it done on bother sides of the court.

Not yet but the starting five is starting to look very similar and that's the point I was making.

Who was the 3 you were talking about? Grant Hill? Matt Barnes? Because some of them came after the BColangelo Suns Era.

Nonsense. All he needs is for the team to win.

Lovin from ESPN

Power Rankings: Best and worst over past six seasons

#27 Toronto Raptors, but...

"We've said it many times: If we were ranking cities, Toronto would never slip out of our top three. We've said this many times, too: If ESPN ever opens a Canadian bureau, we'll be first in the relocation line. But none of that can offset the suffocating nature of the Raptors' losing culture before Bryan Colangelo was hired away from Phoenix to run the franchise. The Raps averaged 29 wins from 2002-03 through 2005-06."

I don't know if anyone posted this but here's some more lovin' from ESPN

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailyd...ge=dime-081105

Three Things I Have Learned So Far by Jalen Rose

3. Calderon and Bosh: As of right now, Jose Calderon is the best point guard in the East. Combine that with the fact that Chris Bosh is the most productive power forward in the league and the Raptors' one-two punch is awfully tough to beat.

Honestly, I don't even think that'd be enough (unless we won a ridiculous 60 games or something).

You have to consider that Kobe is going to be right up there now that the Lakers are title contenders. He's still arguably the best player in the NBA.

Paul already has people debating whether he's the best PG ever to play (lol!). The man-love for him is at an all-time high.

And Lebron? The face of the NBA? Hard to beat that too... esp. when you realize that he has yet to win an MVP.

As much as it pains me to admit it, Chris would have to be pretty otherworldly for him to pass all of those guys.
