I think I will clarify my original post in here, by alf broken I didnt mean that I think JO is half boken, Im just saying that if he was, he would still be at least as good as Daly.

Im am still kind of on the fence but my head tells me that a combo of Brand(who definately is a good player) coming off injury, Andre and Miller wont work out. Brand cannot create for himself very well and will rely heavily on Andre and Andre to feed him the ball. Samy cannot shoot worth a lick which will allow for team to double off onto Brand causing him alot more problems. Andre Miller cannot shoot either and Andre I isnt very good.

Unless they make a trade for a legit outside threat all a team needs to do is take care of the ball and force the team into a slower paced game and collapse on defense cause every thing Philly gets on offense will either be off the break or through brand, both of which are easily compensated against.

If all the contract stuff works out with Andre Iguodala, there's no doubt in my mind that this team challenges the Celtics in the East.
philly last year was us 2 years ago ... they overachieved, for the most part of the season they were submediocre and they had a nice surge. They were not a .500 team last year.

And they did it with defense and a running game style that was masking their offensive deficiencies. It worked partially because they could play with young at PF.

Brand will help them for sure - no question about that. And they should be a even better defensive team, I agree with that. However, regardless of their bold statements, offensively it will be harder for them - much harder. And teams will take them more seriously and there will be more pressure on them. Detroit didn't take them seriously at first, when they did, they killed them completely, even without billups ...

All in all, both us and them have question marks, it's just that they have more than us ... Or, if you think O'Neal is questionable, than you should probably apply the same measuring stick to Brand.

i don't mind people questioning JO's health and all, but for some reason people have forgotten that brand has come off a serious injury too and dont take that into consideration when talking about philly. i think philly will be a good team but i dont think its fair that they only talk about JO's injuries and how they will affect the Raptors if he gets injured again and not really mention anything about Brand and how he missed a whole year so.

the thing is that for some reason, JO is spoken of as a guy with a "history of injuries", while Brand was pretty solid before having an isolated injury (granted, a pretty serious one). However, the reality is that O'Neal was also fairly healthy before having one or two problems with his knees. A guy like Amare had a lot more issues than JO, and very rarely those injuries are even mentioned today.
