Idk, I could see Sixers going off, they have a ton of guys with good potential who could take the next step anytime. But I just wouldn't bet on them over the Knicks. I wouldn't bet on Indiana over Knicks either.

And I think Atlanta is way underrated here.

Both. They exceeded all expectations. They ran into the Heat and played very well considering, even taking a game. Are insinuating that it was a failure?

Failure, no. Their run to get into the playoffs was impressive. But they didn't make a run in the playoffs. They didn't exceed expectations there. They didn't fail in playoffs they did what was expected...they lost.

Triano is a bad game coach and was definitely in over his head, Philadelphia was a great team to watch last year. I wouldn't be surprised to see them compete for a 4-6 spot in the playoffs. Doug Collins is a wizard.

He's a Sixer, but he did coach the Wiz from 2001-03

Doug Collins tends to burn out his players even faster than Scott Skiles though. I'm looking forward to see how this season goes.

Re: 76ers

I agree with the people who think the 76ers have a chance to finish top 6.
Last year, Philly could have been a top 5 seed if they didin't experience so many growing pains early on, while experimenting with lineups (like starting Turner). Philly started the season 3-13 and then went 38-28 after that. They were playing well over .500 once they established a consistent rotation.

One of the good things Philly has going for them is that a few of their key players are still young and improving, so they probably didn't peak last year. Holiday, Young, Turner could all be improved this year. They may make another jump this season. On the other hand, if Turner proves that he is deserving of way more minutes and touches, they could end up with a chemistry issue again, similar to what they had during the first 15 games of last season. I'm not sure if Turner and Iggy can co-exist. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Re: Knicks

They are one injury away from struggling to make the playoffs. If Chandler, Amare, or Anthony goes down....call the cops.

Same can be said with pretty much every team in each conference safe for the top 4 or so.

I suppose. But I think it's a bigger issue for the Knicks. An injury to a top 3 player is probably a big issue for the Celts, too, now that I think about it, and they are projected to be top 4, at least by some people.

If the Pacers lost Granger, West, or one of their guards, I still think they have enough depth to get into the playoffs. The Pacers are 8-10 deep now.

If Philly lost one of Iggy, Holiday or Brand, I still think they have enough depth to get into the playoffs. They have guys like Williams, Thad Young, and now probably Turner, who can pick up the slack.

Take Granger, D Howard, J. Smith, KG, D-Will, Iggy, out of their respective lineups and those teams are Fubar!

I disagree regarding Indy and Philly.

Anyway, I just think the Knicks would be particularly fucked because they are lacking in depth.

See i don't think Philly has much depth either. Take Iggy out and they're young and don't have much off the bench. They have nice pieces but they aren't that deep.

Maybe you're right. From a defensive perspective, losing Iggy would hurt a lot.
