Now who the hell as a Raptor fan is stupid enough to go with this rumor?
If he can learn to get at least 4 assists in a game, then trade him here. I like Melo but he's just a ball hog..A really wet one though. ''5 seconds left, Parker inbounds. Carmelo steals it off of Bosh! 2 seconds left! Melo with a fade-away 40 footer! And the Raptors lose... Maybe he wouldn't be that bad..But the bad media attention from the last 2 months about him sure have brought my opinions on him down. Swap Calderon with Ford and we may have another big trade asset/SF starter averaging 25PPG... Last edited by Kirby; 06-02-2008 at 09:11 PM. |

pick and choose who you want to like, you have to admit that melo is one hell of a basketball player whose game keeps maturing. i would love to see him in a Raptors jersey.
simmons is right, though. he would get eaten alive in toronto by the fans and media. |

To be honest, I wouldn't take Melo. I've always hated his attitude since his Syracuse days and although I think he's a nice player, I also used to think that Vince Carter was a nice player as well and that's where I see Melo's career eventually heading.

I don't see Melo quitting on the Raps if he were to be here now. VC quit on us because of no help but he was being a fag. I also can picture that Melo-VC moment..That would be saddening.. If he could learn to pass a little more then I wouldn't mind him being here. His attitude problems may be a factor.

Without a player of Melo's ilk the Raps won't be able to compete against the elite.
As it is they can barely compete against the lower tier teams. I don't see any other way for them to get a 26 points a night out of the SF position without sending Bosh packing. Maybe hanging out with a nerd like Bosh will calm him down a bit. |

Some way, some how we need to acquire a huge second key piece for this franchise because we won't get far if we have to just depend on Bosh and Calderon for the next couple seasons. We'd continue being one of those 6 to 8 seed teams for years on end. ![]() Melo would be great, but extremely unlikely. Don't know who else out there is comparable to him, but is feasible for us to acquire this summer. ![]() |

That wouldn't even be CLOSE to what Denver would want for Melo. Heck, if they could get Jefferson, Harris and a 1st from Jersey, why the fuck would they want Calderon and a bunch of scrubs?

Yup, only person we have that the Nuggets would even be remotely interested in is Bosh and if you can't have them both then trading one for the other seems kind of moot doesn't it? ;confused2:

Well since we arent talking about what Denver wants for Melo, but whether or not he'd fit on the team, I say hell yes on the simple fact that he's a guy who'll open up the lane for Bosh, while Bosh opens up the perimeter for him. He's 6'9", competes for scoring titles every year, and can rebound. Oh yeah. He's young, an all-star, with a lot of time to develop maturity.
We're a 42-40 team that's won how many playoff series? One? Conference finals? Finals? Beggers can't be choosers when it comes to players of the calibre of Melo. If he's a 10-day or poetential draftee then you wonder about the knucklehead stuff, but if we're able to get melo without losing bosh, then hell yes, we go out and get his ass. |

I'd take Melo-noma. He's an all-star level talent with the potential of being even better. He just needs to grow up and mature a bit. If he can help the team without stunting Bosh's play, athletically and talent-wise, we would be really strong.

For that, you're looking at giving up AT LEAST Calderon, Bargnani, Moon, a 1st this year, and at least another future first, Rasho for Melo and say Kenyon Martin/Nene.
