Are we finally landing a big name FA?

Say what you want to say about Hedo but overpaying for him can help us win games now, which will hopefully entice CB4 to stick around. When is the last time you could say all 5 Raptors starters are potential all-stars? Alright, DD making the ASG may be a long shot, but one can only dream.

I think a frontcourt of Turk, Bosh and Bargs would be kind of useless. An offensive juggernaught yes, but what about on the defensive side of the ball? Can't really compare it to Orlando's last year since they were anchored by the defensive player of the year. Their offensive prowess and defensive liability may cancel eachother out. Although if CB4 "beefs up" like he intends, he may shed the 'soft' stigma. That being said, the biggest risk is not taking a chance. And, I would be lying if I admitted I didn't want to see this.

man you crazy... how on earth does having hedo on our team give us any more grit... his grit is cockiness and that's not what we need, we need an insane player like artest.

An insane player? How about a player who helps us now?

Hedo helps us fill two holes. First, he can create on offence and cause major match up problems for opponents. I would love to see Hedo and Bosh working the pick and roll...Second, he helps to serve as a safety net at point. Right now I'm not overly confident with any of our backups. They'll obviously still have to play some minutes but Hedo can run the point and initiate the offence. He handles the ball very well for his size.

I think that he would fit well with Bosh, Bargs, and Calderon.

Hedo is more clutch then marion, can take control of the ball from the premiter and create a shot for him self or be able to kick it to Bosh or Bargnani and even jose when he drives the ball to crate a high percentage shot...all this hate towards him but he was the one that torched us up when we played against orlando in the first round of the playoffs...he will be more of an asset then marion imo...everyone is saying MLE or "screw off" ...if a playet that was a huge factor carrying his team into the conference wants a some more money which he deserves then you guys need to stop thinking toronto his the hotpot for NBA free agents and realize a player with Hedo's talent cant be just thrown away to the side

Getting Hedo means sacrificing Delfino and our MLE

no thanks. Only way I could see it is if we did Marion S&T for the Stackhouse contract and Bass, then flipped that to Orlando for Hedo.

Personally i think Turks defence is underated. He was great in the defensive end all playoffs, he even dogged Kobe a few times. Bargs is a defensive gem in the making. Bosh is a good defender as long as he doesn't get frustrated from all the blowbys on the perimeter. That's the whole key to the Raps defence next season, not the front line.

They need to defend the smalls on the perimeter better. A healthy Jose will change that significantly, problem might me defending other teams shooting guard though. If someone can fill that role adequately than i think defensively we will be much improved no matter if we end up with Turk or Marion at small forward. It will also help that we have Iavoroni coming in to concentrate on the defence.

Chris will most likely be "soft" no matter how much weight he puts on this summer. It's in him to avoid confrontation, not a big deal. Will it help his defense? It should. I hope it does. I'm sick of seeing him being out-bodied in the post in both defensive and rebounding scenarios.

If Marion leaves, Andrea will be the best man-to-man defender on the team. Call him a rebounding liability if you will, but a defensive liability he is not.

Turk doesn't play Shawn Marion perimeter defense, but he does play effective team defense as most Europeans do. BC won't be discouraged from signing Turk because of any deficiencies on defense.

Yep. Not enough perimeter opportunities to go around. Split them three ways and none of those guys get in a good flow.

What 3 guys?

-Calderon doesn't shoot enough so count him out unless one of AB/hedo struggles

-Delfino shouldn't be more then a 4th or 5th option

-CB4 should never shoot another 3 again

That leaves AB/Hedo as our main 3pt shooters. Perfect!

*But i'd still rather keep Marion.

both hedu and marion fill big holes. Personally, I prefer marion. Long term, Hedu is a better option, because marion is likely to depreciate much quicker, since his game is a lot all about physical skills. Hedu will last longer, as his main strengths (paymaking, shooting, length) hold well as he gets older.

But hedu would be my second choice of all players we could acquire through agency.

I really think a bigman lineup involving Hedo, Bargs and Bosh is something the league had never seen and could be deadly.

IF Bargs continues his improvements on the defensive side and maintains his confidence and Bosh is happy without having 70% of the possession go through him and works on his stregnth down low, then this team could be lethal.
