i'm not trying to defend bargnani as a #1 pick or anything like that
but you have to look at the rest of the draft class, at this point the only guys i'd probably say are better than him are aldridge and gay, sure roy was in that class but right now he can barely even walk, and we didn't draft aldridge because he was a duplicate to bosh
so really drafting bargnani hasn't been that bad considering the all the options

Yes Rondo is better but he was not even a option.

'trane 06-24-2011 12:38 AM

it's hard to think rondo would be the same player he is right now if he started on toronto instead of boston.

Windex 06-24-2011 12:42 AM

Milsap

That's true. Not only that, put him on a teamwith few scoring option and he's fucked since he can't shoot for shit. He's on the perfect team for his talents.

If BC picked Aldridge instead of Bargs. we wouldn't need JV! haha im just speculating... but still Bargs was a mistake, and BC won't admit it.

That would have been panned as well since Bosh was here. You don't take a PF with the #1 pick when your franchise player is a PF. To say Bargnani at the time was a mistake.....is a mistake.

he was a top 6 player in the draft. gay's getting max money, aldridge was redundant behind bosh, roy's knees are done, rondo went 21st, millsap went 47th.

morrison, tyrus thomas, sheldon williams, patrick obryant, muhammed sene and randy foye were the other players in the top 10.

you really think it was a mistake?

we knock Bargs on his Defense.. but other then that, outside of Bargs and Dirk, you won't find to many 7footers who can shoot and put the ball on the floor the way they do

that was a good number #1

Re: the draft between Chris and Skip

Chris makes the same point about Oden. We don't know if he is totally done. He could still be a player. We have to wait and see if he can stay healthy.

lol that was awesome.

spot on mate. Barg has the skills of a top 5 pick. It just hasn't worked as great as it could have. He could be an excellent C or PF on a good defensive team or an excellent 6th man. I hope other teams think that too!

rapsmannn 06-24-2011 07:32 AM

i still think bargs can be allstar type player, he just needs to grab 2 more rebounds a game, up his blocking by half, and hit at a better percentage,

just those 3 things along would make him a 24ppg, 7rbs, 1.5 blks per game player

usually when players get handed the keys they usually become volume shooters and in the second year with the keys become more efficient, we seen this recently with ellis in golden stat

if you want to rank players on who takes the most shit by his own city, team, fans, media you would rank bargnani no 1 in that to

Tha'ts so true. Remember the preseason game in TO when he torched us for 29 points? He came into the league a scorer but with RIvers and the other vets on the team he was guided into a role he is far more suited to and effective in.

Psi 06-24-2011 08:53 AM

Here's the funny thing about this.
Despite the fact Bargs is 7ft, you put him at SG and he averages 21.4/5rb a game, you're happy LOL.
