NEW JACK CITY
As you'll see in the 'chart' below, there's no disguising the fact that Jarrett Jack had a rough start to the season. But the grizzled guard has his game back on track and he's providing some serious pop in Toronto's second unit.
Check out these numbers going into Saturday's game in Chicago:
1st 10 Games
3PT FG% 29.6
Next 11 Games
3PT FG% 41.0
Jack had six points, nine assists, four rebounds, and two steals (shooting 50% FG) against the Bulls. He nailed the only 3-pointer he took as well.
FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH
I know, I know... it all evens out in the wash; everyone eventually plays 82 games...
But just how hard have the first six weeks of the season been for Toronto?
Well, NO team in the NBA has played more games than the Raptors.
Entering tonight's action, the Raps have played 22 games. That's five more than the San Antonio Spurs (17) … proving how jammed the sked has been for T.O. (heck, there's no rest for the wicked this week either... with Toronto playing three games in four nights starting tomorrow).
Further to that, only the Phoenix Suns have played more ROAD games than the Raptors. Check it out:
1. Phoenix - 14
2. Toronto - 13
3. Dallas, Memphis, Houston, Philadelphia, New jersey - 12
Conversely, check out the home court advantage other teams in the league have had given their minimal travel to this point …
Fewest road games in the NBA this season:
1. LA Lakers - 4 2. San Antonio - 5 3. Utah, LA Clippers - 8
Toronto started the year well at home -- 4-1 at one point -- but they've lost three of their last four at ACC. If they're going to start making up for their large amount of ROAD games, they've got to start taking care of business on their HOME floor.
The Raps have three home games this week against Minnesota (TUES), Atlanta (FRI), and Houston (SUN).
