Today in Eric's blog he posted a couple tidbits especially for the Jose fans.
![]() As soon as I see that Scoop Jackson's write-up of Jose and Ford I'll post it over here. ![]() Anyhow, some pretty incredible numbers from Jose as of late. ![]() Quote:

I know how this is going to be taken by most of you but i'll say it anyways. While it's impressive that Jose doesn't make a lot of mistakes, i think a little too much is being made of the assist to turnover thing. It's the only stat we're mentioning when talking about Calderon and it's misleading to zero in on just that stat. I think there are times when Jose passes up an agressive move that could be a great momentum changing play to make the safe pass and with our record being what it has been of late, and wins being the most important of all stats let's not get to fuzzy about either point guards play in one specific area or another.
Anyways, so that i dont' sound bias I will say that I do like how he seems to be a lot more comfortable and confident lately..he's shooting those good percentages still and th eassist numbers have been great. I wish he'd be a bit more agressive and selfish and use his offence more as a weapon than an afterthought. |

I really think it's in his head right now. When was the last time he made one of those blowby cuts to the basket more than once in a game? He doesnt' seem to be attacking enough and his offensive numbers are way down. He's too good a shooter to just be missing suddenly and for this long. I think its' attitude and he's gotta get some before the weekend.

Now I agree that Jose should shoot more. He is one of our best shooters. He should look to shoot more, however since coming off the bench his shots attempts have been reduced big time and his accuracy has dipped somewhat but somehow he still ranks at the top for shooting percentage for pg's in the NBA. Jose will be ok , he will get the majority of time in the playoffs. The more Jose plays the better we will be and I can really see something special happening for us in the playoffs. The time to showcase TJ for the summer trade is over . Its time to get back to running our offencive flow with Jose in charge. |

I dont mind Jose missing the 17 footers because theyre good shots and hes probably top 20 in % from that area.
I'd rather take the 2-3 turnovers a game when hes driving to the hole getting teammates wide open corner 3's or layups/fts for himself or Bosh. DRIVE IT JOSE. |

Jose game goes according the circumstances of the game, in different threads we have been talking about the lack of offense game from guys like Kapono, Andrea, among others, and this is one of the big differences between Tj and Jose, he prefer to bring everybody aboard before start taking shots himself, and believe me every time that he make one of those good passes, beside getting the basket, he arises everybody confidence and awareness that they can be next, so in a way he is getting everybody involve in the game. In every single game we have an average of 90 shots and if he only play half of the time he is involved in half of those, but keep in mind in such as short period of time has to click with everybody and at the same time create momentum and if you are coming out the bench what you find on the floor is what it is, with mediocre teams is hard to make an evaluation, only when you play real teams you can evaluate yourself, an example that we can take to the playoffs, those games against NO and Boston where we won, we create intensity right from the beginning and the only way to make it happen is getting everybody involved, Jose does it full time, Tj is more aleatory whenever he feels like.
It is playoff time and sharing minutes to make everybody happy isn't going to work, so I hope to see on the floor only those who they are up to the circumstances, in a way Smitch should be challenging everybody and give minutes only to those who prove to him that they deserve it, no first and second unit B..l S..t Last edited by Demetrio; 04-16-2008 at 06:53 PM. |

I like his game, he makes the right decision, and when he doesn't gamble, he isn't turning it over, a stat thta too many people on this site discredit.
He has been missing his jumpers lately, and it's all about aggression and looking for his shot instead of just taking shots when they appear. I'm afraid this won't change until he is the true #1 Pg on the team, or until he goes someplace else. |
