yes, but it'll probably be sold so we can stay under the l.tax and sign a jumpshooter.

I'm not saying trade Jose, because he probably doesn't have much value right now. He certainly did by all the hints BC dropped at the trade deadline last season. I'd say that was the time to trade a guy that was having the same problems last season as he is right now.

I heard so much about Jose being the right guy for this team. That the guys on the wings went cold becuase they didn't know what TJ was going to do. That Jose was a real leader and floor general. But I see the guys on the wings going cold all the same, and I see Jose not being able to handle any kind of defensive pressure. It's like a little moral victory for him to get the ball up the court, while way too many guys he opposes just blow by him, or come up to the three point line and fire away, or toss the ball to a scorer that is freed up by one of our defenders being overly concerned with Jose's man.

The worst part is that he is playing pretty good defense. He's just completely outmatched, especially over extended minutes. It's just too obvious. How can anyone look at last night and not see that he looked like a midget swinging away with punches while Chauncey just stood with one arm on Jose's head, keeping the punches at bay, while the other arm launched threes.

Jose has a LOT of trade value right now. He has great value at 8.5/yr and would be a major upgrade for many contenders (Boston, Cleveland, LA, Portland) are just a few examples. And it would be pretty stupid to trade him too - it's not like you would find a replacement on any corner. Healthy and properly utilized, at worst Jose is a better version of Mike Bibby and at best a legitimate all star. He would definitely need to play on a good defensive team though, somewhere who can protect him better.

And btw, I loved how last night George Karl was defending Jose with Jones in order to preserve Billups' energy, while we were wasting our best defender on Jones and force Jose to run around screens chasing Billups. Good coaches know how to maximize the production of their players - but Sam is a traditionalist, he doesn't believe in "adjustments". God forbid we should put Andreea on Martin and Bosh on Carmelo, like any decent coach would do, no - let's put a much slower Bargnani in a position to pick up two fouls (loosely awarded, true - but it's expected when you defend on a superstar in attack mode), and be forced to play Graham from the 5 minutes mark into the game.
