Eddie Johnson: Top 25 NBA players

Quote:
14. Chris Bosh (10)

Itís time for Chris Bosh to show that he can put a team on his back or ask management to bring in a veteran star to help him along. Bosh averaged 22 points, but shot a disappointing 48 percent. He has to develop a better low-post game and help his team get better high-percentage shots. Every year he seems to be floating further and further away from the basket. He took 49 three-point shots last year and made 12. Bosh is more of a finesse player, but the idea of improving his three-point game is the wrong road to travel. Letís hope he has beefed up somewhat and is willing to allow his teammates to take care of the outside game. His role is to be dominant in the paint. Most importantly, I want Bosh to make Shaq change the statement he made about him last year. He called Bosh the RuPaul of big men. Bosh did not deserve that description. Letís see if he can make Shaq look like the old man of centers.

It is kinda low for a big. But he's a jump shooting big so, for the type of game he plays theres nothing wrong with it.

..you cannot be serious?.....you want him to take 3's?....i would much rather see him go low and dunk it every time....i wouldn't care what his percentage is....

it's fairly low, because he doesn't shoot 3pts like dirk does. Dirk shoots around 50% too, but many of his shots are 3s, which are harder shots to make.Boozer, duncan, jefferson, gasol - all shoot better than him, and probably the list is not complete.

I don't think Bosh will ever be the type of player who will just slam his opponent down low and dunk it over him on every posession. He needs to develop a nice hook shot like Gasol and Yao.

Every time Bosh goes up for a dunk he usually get's blocked. I remember last season Bosh tried to dunk it on Dalambert twice in the same possession and he got blocked both times.

NBA Dunks - CBSSports.com

bosh is 28th with 81 last season which is respectable though he is capable of more if he mans up and loses the fear of being blocked. Still not bad considering the attention he's draw's

feel free to find Bargnani on that list

I can't argue the position. It could be higher, but not lower. I think Bosh needs to do something in the playoffs before anyone has the right to get up in arms about something like this.

dunks mean nothing.

Period.

That said, Bosh has hopefully jacked up 300,000 three's to go along with his new found physical strength.

You might not want him shooting, but trust, there's a reason that there's 4 guys camped in the paint waiting for him to take it in.

You need to make um rspect the shot.

Couldn't disagree more! The Raptors finally have guys on the perimeter who can consistently make shots and punish teams for waiting for our bigs. Moon, parker, kapono... these guys never punished teams by hitting open threes when we needed them to.

Bosh needs to become a machine on the boards, man up defensively and be able to fly around with the help D for intimidation purposes. Who cares about his 20 and 10. He needs realize there are AT LEAST two offensive options that should be ahead of him. Turk, Bargnani and possibly Calderon or Bellinelli.

Please Bosh, rebound and defend like a beast and the Raptors can make the second or third round. If you need to pad your stats, we will be a first round casualty. your points will come in the flow of the game.

I have a feeling that SJ meant to put "jumpers" where he put "threes", in which case he's entirely correct. You're right about his need to lead on defense carp, but show me anybody else that will see double teams and I'll give you the point about him there being so many options ahead of him on offense.

Gasol @10 above Brandon Roy and Deron Williams is ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a very good player but you can't put him there just because LA became the champions.

if anything, i think CB needs to develop a post up game.
if he had a back-to-the-basket game he'd be unstoppable.
imagine the freedom we'd have if he could catch it in the post, and then either make a turnaround J, or slip around the defender for some inside drive.
instead, we see him do the same thing over and over.... face up, drop his foot like he's faking right, then either shoot, or drive right and lose control of the ball, or miss badly.... sometimes he gets fouled so thats a plus, but his repitoire is getting old.
he needs to add a post up game to his arsenal.
it would be a huge weapon and teams wouldnt expect it. he's got really long reach and at 6'11, he's got height over the shorter PFs in the league.
he'd have to put on some more muscle, but isnt that what they said he's been doing this summer?
