Ed Davis and Tristan Thompson

Anyone thinks they have very similar games?

I wonder who's gon be better down the road....or who would you rather have?

I think Ed now, and even as a rookie is more well rounded offensively (which isn't saying much, both very raw), but they are both pretty equal on D. I think Ed has better awareness.

In the end it comes down to their work ethic. Who's gunna put in the hours? I think Tristan will become a very good player, but I also think Ed Davis will be a force in the league aswell.

i think TT is more a presence under the glass than ed. but he grab less rebound. also TT has more offense in him. he need to work. BUT tonight was a big ED !

i would prefer to have both in fact. one starter, one backup, in two or three year that will be a vrey good pf spot with amir and JV in the rotation... LOL !

Ed clearly has a season under his belt when comparing these two. I'd say Tristan has the athletic advantage but Ed has the basketball IQ, and better defensive instincts especially. And in the end, defense wins championships so I'll stick with Ed.

TT is stronger than ED physically! He showed it tonight.

Carlito Caliente 12-26-2011 10:58 PM

i didn't watch the game so i can't say....but that's impressive to hear considering TT is just a rookie. But Ed always take high percentage shots!

I think the Thompson kid is gonna be a good player in this league. He's much quicker and stronger than Ed. I think Leo was saying that he still needs to develop his shot but other than that, first game, 12 pts off the bench, the Canuck did well.

Kuzzy 12-27-2011 05:03 AM

A little more aggressive and skilled on the offensive end, but I think Ed has the edge on defense. The Cavs should have took their chances with Valanciunas though. I just don't see Tristan living up to his projected value at #4.

ValanciunasFanboy 12-27-2011 05:18 AM

I predicted Thompson to win rookie of the year.
But after last night, I think it will be either Rubio or Derrick Williams. One of Sota rookies. Both SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO impressive.
They need to trade Beasley yesterday and give Williams the bulk of minutes. They can be in the playoffs. Hornets are out, Denver is questionable, Rockets and Suns aren't better. There are two spots open, one of them goes to Clippers, and Sota has enough talent to take the last one. But no more hero BS from Beasley. Let Rubio create and Williams finish. They are their most talented offensive players already.

Denver is going to shock people IMO. they aint down and out!

ValanciunasFanboy 12-27-2011 12:14 PM

I don't think people are counting Denver out.
Imo, they are favorites for a playoff spot.
But Warriors and Wolves have enough talent to be better.

Wolves do need to trade Beasley though. He's a terrible fit. They need to run and move the ball, and let Rubio create. Beasley is the ultimate ball stopper and black hole, and he takes away Derrick Williams minutes.
Trade him for a rim protector or a long range shooter. Marco Bellineli? JJ Redick? Rudy Fernandez? Courtney Lee? All would be awesome. JJ Redick might be the most available, Magic might take Beasley at this point.

My pick is Jimmer! He looks like he is a vet already, know he only had 6 points in his first game but he was checking Kobe...you will all see.

definitely some similarities, was thinking the same thing myself
