Default Is Ed Davis in the top 15 Power Forwards in the NBA since starting?

Is Ed Davis SINCE HE HAS BECOME A STARTER, playing like he's in the top 15 PF in the NBA. If not name who is better.

Rule is you cannot name centres or people playing centre (JJ Hickson for example)... or SF for that matter.

Feel free to tell us his size is a terrible handicap and he cannot rebound, but if you are going to do this, please list where he fits in the list of height and weight with PFs.

I'm kind of done saying this is in every thread so lets give it a home. I think Ed Davis is a good rebounder, learning how to be a good scorer (TS%) and since PF is a very difficult position to find talent in traditionally, giving up a good PF with upside, for some magic beans, would be a smart as a bag of hammers.

He isn't even the top PF on his own team. Ed Davis has shown he is a capable starter, but maybe top 20.

Call me when he starts playing like a top 5 power forward.

if you're referring to Bargnani you deserve to be smacked. if you're referring to Amir I'd agree with you in terms of doing the little things but davis is by far a better defender than Amir, more so than how much is offence lacks in comparison, thus, imo, davis is the best pf on our roster now.

doesn't mean I think he should be our best, but it is what it is

Amir Johnson.

So we are debating if Ed Davis is top 15 power foward in this league. So more than half the teams in this league can boast a better power forward than the Raps.

Same thing can be said for PG, SF, Center. It shows we have an inferior roster which can be seen from our record.

Utah has two that are better. He's not top 15, but who cares, he's playing well. He needs more strength and he's a bit short despite being listed as taller.

he's 6-10 dude, I don't why you stick to this theory that they've conspired against us to list a 6-8 to 6-9 dude as 6-10. his small frame just makes it look so. strength wise wait till next year. if he really does go in to bulk like Bosh did that summer you'll see something entirely new. but yes, right now I agree, not top 15.

Lets see. Of the top of my head:
Dirk
Tim
Pau
Cousins
Bosh
Carmelo
Garnett
Aldridge
Lee
Blake
Boozer
Millsap
Randolph
Ibaka
Scola
Horford

Thats just some names. I might have missed some obvious ones and Ed is no where near the level of those guys. So I'd say far away from top-15.

Top-15 second string PF maybe?

Smith
Boozer
Dirk
Lee
West
Griffin
Gasol
Randolph
Davis
Ibaka
Aldridge
Duncan
Nene
Love

These are all starters that are better than him. Non starters Stoudimire, Favors, Bass to name a few. Even on the Raptors Amir and Bargs are better players (no matter how bad Bargnani is playing right now). Let's not get ahead of ourselves and just be happy he's playing well.

Yeah... exactly. Good stuff LGR!!!

I'd say Monroe and Faried as well... but again, Davis is ok as a young big... but he's still in that group of young bigs. He's in a group with Jason Thompson, Patrick Patterson, Larry Sanders, etc....

easily borderline top 15. I would take him over Scola and David West to name a few.

plus he is only 23 and getting better

keeper.
