Ed Davis omitted from 1st & 2nd All Rookie Team

After an impressive rookie season, Ed Davis has failed to make the 1st & 2nd all Rookie Team:

2010-11 T-Mobile All-Rookie First Team
Blake Griffin
John Wall
Landry Fields
DeMarcus Cousins
Gary Neal

2010-11 T-Mobile All-Rookie Second Team
Greg Monroe
Wesley Johnson
Eric Bledsoe
Derrick Favors
Paul George

Have a strong off-season Ed, and come back strong like Derozan.

Unanimous pick Griffin leads T-Mobile All-Rookie team roster | NBA.com

lol! davis got 1 first place vote. i'm guessing it has to be devlin, but come on.....no way davis had a better rookie season than griffen or cousins

LX 05-11-2011 04:53 PM

tough field, and he missed a good chunk of the season. No biggie.

Sorry dude, the voting panel consist of 30 NBA coaches. Each coach not allowed to vote for their own player. D. Favors does play with a bit of a nasty streak, and coaches tend favor players in winning teams. I hope that chip on Davis' shoulders from falling in the draft gets a little bit bigger.

Rick Carlisle probably voted for Ed. :cookie:

Yeah, I think the same! He put some big numbers in that win against Mavs!

its by position and his position had the most competition with the ROY in 1 of his potential spots, its alright, kind of like demar not making the rookie team last year in the rookie/soph challenge

Dutches 05-11-2011 07:19 PM

Favours over Davis? Really?

He was in NJ not really doin much for a good portion of the season....

Evan Turner got cut again. Last 2 second picks have been busts so far (Thabeet, Turner).

Don Vito 05-11-2011 09:40 PM

Lol wooooooooooooow.... Davis should be on the first team.

Not fair to call Turner a bust yet. It was one year and he was going into a whole new system and playing differently then he was at Ohio State.

He played well in the playoffs against the Heat though. Could have a nice year next year.

Fair enough.

Philly fans got to be disappointed though, with all the comparisons the Brandon Roy.

Evan Turner is this years DeRozan. He'll start to pick it up next year, I guarantee it.

I'd suggest Turner would be this year's Harden.....

Stonezz 05-11-2011 11:06 PM

^Ill agree with that. Turner isn't as athletic as DD

He did? I only remember 1 good game by him, but i'm not sure i wasnt able to follow the 1st round too closely

15points(6/10) 6rebounds game 2, 17points(7-13) 6rebounds game 4. So 2 good games. Game 5 he struggle shooting but did have 10rebounds. He was a big part of why the 76ers won game 4 against them.

He also guarded Wade or LeBron while in the game.

In game 1 and game 3 he only got 9 & 7min.

So in the 3 games they actually play him he average 27MPG 12PPG 7.3RPG. Not bad for a rookie, off the bench, in the playoffs. He at least showed signs he can play.

I bet it was Del Negro who voted for Ed. Ed posted two quality outings against the Clippers, and since Vinny couldn't vote for his own stud PF...

Maybe this adds fuel to the fire. Demar citied his omission from last year's team as a source of motivation.

Aamir 05-12-2011 02:16 PM

Anyone know for sure how Favors played last year? I heard no talk about him what-so-ever. He was the 3rd pick FFS, he took Davis' spot.
