Whether that means sitting Bargnani or JV, although I think it woul work better playing with Bargnani. The only time we play well defensively is when Ed is on the floor like you saw last night.

I don't think that Ed should play at the expense of minutes for Jonas. Jonas has a much greater upside.
But I agree...I think Davis has earned more playing time. |

The Spurs game has really raised the confidence of Ed Davis. We need fresh legs, I think a 4 big man rotation is fine. No way we sacrifice the minutes of Val for Ed Davis. Minutes should taken away from Bargnani. I think the chemistry and energy of Amir and Ed Davis is really picking up. I like to see more Ed Davis and Jonas on the floor. Ed Davis has always had a lack of consistency and focus. The spark and jump of Jonas would help Ed Davis.

I think Amir should be shipped out. Give ed his minutes and you won't see a drop off.... give up Amir, along with something else and see what you can get.
JV must not lose any minutes. |

agreed. i love amir, but I think we've seen the limit of what he can do. Ed Davis has another level (or two) to his game and is already interchangeable with Amir. Even if you do believe Amir is a cut better, the temporary minor dropoff would be worth it in the long-run.

the guy needs minutes. whenever he plays, he produces. he also has a good idea of what he can and can't do. agreed that he has that other level or two which he could get to.

davis isn't good enough to get minutes against the other teams' starters and still produce well. he's not good enough to bench Bargnani over, not yet anyways, and in my eyes never will be. it's much better to have 2 7 footers on the floor than one, trust me, the mere fact that they're both there makes it intimidating to drive.
especially given that bargnani's defence is starting to pick up again, working its way up to pre injury form and his offence is picking up too. yesterday was one of the few games we got out rebounded badly, even with Bargnani we're a good rebounding team with lowry, JV, and emergence of Demar. Davis should not take away minutes from bargnani, or JV. amir? sure, but not our two starting bigs. just. not. good. enough |

Ed Davis definitely deserves more minutes. He's close to 6 and 6 in 15 minutes. He's a trade asset as it is, but if he was let's say 10 and 8-9 with some more playing time, he could net us a really good return.
