Raptors Ed Davis adding Muscle

Quote:
Ask the Lithuanian what he needs to work on and it becomes quite clear that beefing up is high on his list followed closely by his low post game and his shot.

Davis has already begun his own transformation, dropping unnecessary body fat and adding on about five or six pounds of good NBA muscle since the season ended.

Is anybody still questioning whether Jonas was the right pick or not? Dude wants to be the best.

I am actually excited now. We just have to be patient one more season and it will all be worth it after next year's draft. I am glad now we didnt pick Kemba or Knight.

Good to see Ed working hard.

I'd love to hook him up with Gary Roberts for a few months. mmm... the whole team actually. They'd really benefit.

for those who don't know who Roberts is, he's a former Leaf player, won a cup with Calgary. He broke his neck and was never to play again and he hired a fitness guru to live with him for a year, end result he got is superior shape and played another 15 years or so in The nHL. He now trains NHL guys up here in the offseason with a very strict workout regimen and a focus on lifestyle and nutrition education. His workouts are deadly. The focus, as it should be, is to help Professional athletes to learn how to ready their bodies for the rigours of 82 game seasons. The focus in one training your body for recovery. His clients rave, and it shows in their on ice improvements.

Have a look at his webpage.... if I had the time and cash, I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Yeah Gary Roberts is hardcore. The guy had a long career b/c of his fitness regime. The guy was an animal. lol

Davis looks thicker in his obliques....

Only concern with Gary's performance training is I think it's slanted towards hockey performance.... not sure, but seems that way. Who would be the basketball equivalent?

From what I've read Tim Grover seems to be one of the top bball trainers out there. He's the guy who trained MJ in the gym and helped turn him from a skinny kid into arguably the most physically dominant 2-guard in the league at that time.

I really hope that we're not pinning our hopes on getting a top 2 pick in next year's draft.... because we'll be lining up for disappointment yet again.

I actually think we ended up with the best possible scenario with this year's draft pick....

If we lose the whole season everyone thinks we should be getting the same pick order, i.e. there would be no moving up or down, so we'd get the third pick anyways.
