Default For Ed Davis

I've gotta ask. Keeping in mind that Ed Davis went 13th, and many think he was worth a higher pick, what pick number do you think we could get for Ed Davis straight up?

i don't want to offense him, but this draft seems to me higher. so even at 13th we can get a player with more upside than ed.

In personnel terms, you guys realize that mid to late draft would likely be Austin Rivers territory, or PGs like Kabongo, Marshall or Teague. Is that a decent return, 1-for-1?

I for one would not mind seeing a true ball distributing PG coming in as 3rd if/when Jose gets fazed out. Either way, that could mean Bayless as the back up 1/2.

You don't trade Ed Davis. His ceiling is quite high.

if it means we can get a good pg in the draft, we should do the trade, AB is playing awesome so far at PF, and if it ends up lasting the whole season, then ED becomes expendable because Amir is the perfect first big off the bench

That's a pretty big assumption. You don't know exactly when or how high the good point guards will go. You can make an education guess, but if you whiff on the guard(s) you're after, will any of the bigs be better than Ed Davis? I doubt it. Also, the hallmark of a championship team is depth so I don't see why keeping both Amir and Ed is a bad idea, they're pieces for the future. And honestly, I think Jose can be a 30+ minutes PG for the next three years at least.

It would be unbelievable to get Barnes & Dulkys from this draft. That's the answer for Raps. Dulkys is like JJ Reddick.
C. Valanciunas
PF. BargnaniDavis
SF. Harrison Barnes/ Kleiza
SG. Derozan/ Dulkys
PG. Bayless/ Dulkys

Ed should go not sure he was to thrilled to be a Raptor in the first spot .
With V coming in next year and Bargs full time at the 4 to get a mid first rounder in this draft would be a steal and keep amir as the back up 4/5 .

I don't think Davis is going anywhere ... He will need to start to assert himself more and demonstrate consistent intensity. If we want to be a contender some day, you need to develop some of your players.

- High draft this year
- Trade Barbosa for another draft pick for this year
-Use open cap space to add an excellent player ... Position / player we pursue will depend on what we draft
- Assess if Bayless this year can become a decent 2 off the bench ... If not - trade him for a pick

If we draft a young PG ... Keep Caldy to mentor the kid

Continue to focus on the culture and add strong building blocks ...
