What kind of stud pg are you going to get for a guy on a rookie contract?

I can't shake the feeling that Bargnani is going to leave in a trade.

IMO he's got the most value right now and that would help fill holes easily.

I think demar and bayless can take some more extra load on offense that will be left by bargs, should he get traded.
you actually think bayless can take on extra load on offense? the guy can't even handle his own load on offense, there's no way you can count on him each night when he hasn't shown any signs of being a consistent player

Not sure I'd want to trade AB at this point. Good season offensively last season and he's entering his prime with a new coach.

Stretching the floor is hardly a pre-requisite for bigs. Defending is. So who really needs to get traded from a team with the worst defense for two years running?
I keep forgetting that Andrea Bargnani is the only reason the Raptors didn't defend....not the other 12 players that can't guard their own shadow.

I'd be open to it if they can wrangle a stud 3-guy with the move. But who do you toss in? Toronto would have to take on some cash or some floats-om.

I'm not sure LX, that the Raps are looking to do anything but hold a 66 game tryout this year. Bargs starts, and has to show he can continue a prolonged ability to actually leave his REM state while on defense (and offense, I find it ofdd that so many ignore the fact that he hasn't really grabbed an offensive rebound in years). Toronto will let him have the season to do this, because the minutes for the other two don't need to be huge. Davis might be a gem, but not yet, he's still green as shit and will get his minutes and his tutelage. Johnson, well he has a shitload of things to improve, namely, his inability to stay outta the box (hockey for FOULS).

Basically, I kinda see your point, but unless it was a major score, i don't see it, not yet.

He had three in the first preseason game.... lol

I agree, this year is all about seeing who put in the work over the offseason, who listened to what they were told and who's willing to step out of their comfort zone and do more than the bare minimum. AB, DD, ED, AJ, JJ, JC, JB, SA... all need to give more.

yep...and as fans we should be happy that our GM now has to do things properly. No more bullshit. It will be pain, but hopefully, a different kind. More like a 1986 Atlanta hawks pain, where there is fruits from labour.

i doubt we'll see anyone play over 30 minutes a night if you're planning on having any of them play the full 66 game season.

besides, i'll never see having 3 capable bigs as an issue. so, once we jonas is here and Bargs is gone, maybe we can reopen this discussion

and if Bargs makes progress this year? I assume you still want your top scored and hardest match up gone?

You do know that packing the paint on a team that is putrid from out side, and basically inept in the paint from 15 feet is something a HS team could do and stay in a game against toronto right?

give the gino some love!!!!!

the whole centre expanding the floor business is a thing of the past. the only applied when the league was strictly man-to-man and it'd be a defensive violation if you floated. Bargs 3pter is no difference than demars nowadays. yes, you need people to hit them, but having someone in the low post that can actually create offence down low is far more valuable than a 7fter who sticks 20 feet out.

Yeah, having a 7 footer be ANOTHER 3pt threat actually can work, but when your 7 footer is your only legit 3pt threat (please, nobody say Jose is also a threat).....he may as well be a guard.

I don't agree at all actually. Having a guy that can get that shot off over people, and having a big that can nail 15+ shots is invaluable. In fact, talent is key. If Bargs is playing even average on defense, and grabbing an average of 8-9 rebs he is more valuable than both the other two guys.

Anyhow, a lotta ifs on both sides of the equation... time will tell.

Star Ed @ the C spot end of story...Either way there will be switching from man to man in the front court.

Have Amir come off the bench & replace Davis & AB when they need rest...

But for real if Davis gets another double double or something close to it he has to start some how!

You can't have your most productive big man on the bench that is just stupid!
