Eastern Conference standings so far

1.Cleveland (27-9) -
2.Boston (24-8) 1
3.Orlando (24-9) 1.5
4.Atlanta (21-11) 4
5.Miami (16-15) 8.5
6.Toronto(17-18) 9.5

8.Charlotte (14-18) 11
9.Milwaukee (13-18) 11.5
10.New York (14-20) 12

Pretty tight. Any surprises?

BTW, Miami has 20 out of their next 27 games on the road. Think they're gonna drop? Can we take advantage?

Dark Knight 01-04-2010 08:48 PM

New York has the 8th spot? Only in the East....

pretty tight bottom half of the conference...with a few good wins the raps will be 5th pretty soon or with a few bad losses, the raps could soon be 9th

Do the raps really want to take advantage?
I mean, I think they stand a better change of beating Orlando than Atlanta.
Raps have been competitive with Orlando this season, while the games vs. Atlanta have been blowouts. Raps just couldn't match their athleticism

Gurk 01-04-2010 09:01 PM

Anything can happen thouhg. ATL could bget better too. It is always better to ge into the higher position.

We don't match up well with either team. Our best chance is if the Heat move up to fourth and we manage to get the 5th spot, or vice versa (wishful thinking. :dancing:)

gabe91 01-04-2010 09:08 PM

were still in the hunt for fourth......especially with atlanta losing lately

halphbreedballer 01-04-2010 09:30 PM

I can't believe there are so many bad teams in the playoff race for the east Ewwww

As much as I'm lovin the raps in the 6th spot LOL

& your right gabe91 4th spot is within range:)

lexotan 01-04-2010 09:38 PM

new york is actually playing pretty good, lately - expecially when it compares to the awful start they had. they're looking better than chicago, anyway

I'm surprised by Chicago. Not long ago they were sucking BADLY. Wtf changed? Did Chicago acquire new player(s)?

I don't see a upset this year from the raptors, and even if we beat the hawks big whoop cause cleveland or orlando will smoke us. I am still optimistic and anything could happen in the playoffs but not this year. When will we see a grade A toronto contender in this league I will never know.

Ya, does it really matter? I think making it past the first round would be more then enough to make me happy this year.

I think Atlanta is probably the team that the Raps would feel the most confident against. It wasn't so long ago that Bosh/Bargs/Jose were on a Raps team that probably felt they were better than the Hawks who had the same core then as they do now.

Raptors have played the Magic 3 times this season so far
2 of the games ended within 10pts
1 was a 20pt lost, but they were still in it at halftime.

Played the Hawks 2 times
blown out both games, the games where out of hand at halftime in both games.

Miami has had the softest schedule in the NBA! Now they'll be tested.

Raps still have to play better to catch them.
