Like everyone else, I was also wondering why he didn't call a time out sooner. The premise of this thread, and the piece it's about, are essentially incorrect; we didn't start our run to gain back the lead until a couple minutes after the time out if I'm not mistaken, and Casey probably could have done that sooner. And the fact that "He could not think of much to say" is a pretty poor excuse, and has after the fact rationalization written all over it.

The fact that so many of you guys are praising him goes to show you can get a lot of people to believe whatever you want if you frame something creatively enough and leave facts out.

Also, did you guys forget he personally cost us the chance to tie or win in Charlotte? Or that he actively tries to distract opposing players taking three pointers near the bench? That's some bush league shit if I've ever seen some.

Calling timeouts after little runs shows your weak and can't trust your team. Some coaches even call timeouts when they're winning because they don't like how guys are playing(pop does this all the time). Casey is trying to make the team tougher and they probably wouldn't have turned it around like they did without the veteran guys in there to take lead. Without them, it would've turned into a Lowry, DD Chuck fest

15 points swing is not a little run.

Less is more. More or less. But mostly less. Or should that be more?

You kind of supported my point. Are you going to have a team that needs timeouts called just to repeat what was said at the half, and always look to micromanaging cause and effect throughout games, or rather than work through moment by moment, have a team that can rely on an identity to carry them through a full 48 minutes?

Did he personally cost them the win against Charlotte, or did the team not have enough of an identity to be able to execute to where they did not need to try to squeeze out last second wins against weaker teams. And i am not aware of him trying to distract shooters. I do know he has had to be extremely vocal and animated in order to ensure players covered their rotations in the past. That is not the case any more.

I am not trying to convince you or anyone here of anything, or look past supposed facts. One fact that is a constant is that the coach gets criticized and thrown under the bus on pretty much every team in the nba. It's the easiest place to go, and there is usually no way to confirm or deny facts per se within a context that can be verified as entirely accurate, unless you are there on the bench and in the locker room and in the board room. So if everything is working for the players and organization over the long run, that tends to offer some sense of a coaches true value and effectiveness.

Calling out posters here as naive and easily lead by media propaganda is not even close to being accurate. You can see the situation how you would like, and others can see it in a different light but because our opinions don't align does not make us naive fools.
