Well deserved after all that he has accomplished this season.
If BC has a similar option, I'd like his picked up too, so he's a little less under the gun and doesn't feel like he HAS to rush the rebuild. While I wouldn't want to watch another season of "tanking", and I'd at least like us to be competitive, I also don't want BC to make moves in an attempt to win over the popular majority when they're not right for this team. Also, the results may not be so immediate, and I'm ok with that, as I think BC has made some really good moves (and non-moves) since he signed his extension. |

I agree about extending colangelo, makes no sense for him to be in his final year mid-way through rebuilding. I'd rather give him a couple of extra years to complete the process without rushing through and decide then what to do.
by next summer, the team's core will be in place, so even if colangelo's performance is not adequate, there's not much any other GM could do by then. |

not to mention that mlse can always fire him if things get really bad
on the other hand, if colangelo rushes this summer, it could cost us a lot more money than 1-2 years of his pay. |

The Raptors defense is hands down the best i have seen it in years.
The offense has been the worst i have seen in years. Love to see what Casey will do with some healthy players and a few more threats added to the roster. |

The defense can easily be much better - but they will need better players. They relied a lot on fouling. And that hurt the offense, as they went up against set defenses a lot. Once they can defend without fouling so much they can convert defense to offense much better.
I liked what I saw of the offense, as it began to develop. I love the importance placed on execution, screens and cuts. To me, just getting a hint of that was as good as the defensive improvement. Get this man some more players and things will be good. We desperately need to see some guys on the court that can produce as much excitement as the coaching. And from there we can see for sure if he's the real deal. |
