![]() I'm a 5'11 skinny brown kid and the only thing I can do is grab onto the mesh lol...and after I dislocated my knee last year I don't even try that hard to jump at the rim anymore. Last time I dunked was in the summer on a 8 foot rim at my cousin's house lol, did it pretty easily but didn't feel too good when I hit the ground. More of a hustle guy like Jim Carrey

![]() I'm not quite 5'11" but I threw down a couple one-handers in warm-ups one game. I came to my senses and calmed down after that because my bread and butter was my long-range shooting and the adrenaline was gonna mess up my game and we can't have that Billy Ho.
I used to be able to do the Jordan style one-handed baseline jam where you kinda dunk it behind your head as you're floating by - but only with a volleyball on a 10' rim. I can still touch the rim at 34 and I'm pretty damn proud of it. |

![]() back in Highschool, lol i had a breakaway, so i attempted to dunk, i missed but it hit the rim, the impact of the rim pushed the ball back it hit the backboard and went in, everyone still went crazy, so it was one of my great highlights lol

![]() Armchair.
The majority of my better dunks came after HS. I had maybe 35-36 inches in my last HS year. University was different as I was training every day to jump. 41" was the last testing measurement during December testing for the Volleyball team. It wasn't a consistent 41, we pushed each other to touch higher and higher on the backboard. I got to the top of the box and maxed out. My best dunk in HS was an old Ron Harper copy. Ron Harper at 25 seconds, Jordan does it too, but me and my buddies always called it the Ron Harper! |

I had one really great chance against St. Catharines collegiate. I had spent a semester there and a lot of the guys on the team were friends. I remember I went over on my ankle in the second quarter but taped t play the third. I got a clean pick and took off down the left side and my buddies on the CI team, Richie Duncan and Leon Bell were screaming at me to dunk it but I had no lift with the blown wheel. It was hilarious because we were all laughing after that when I hobbled back down the floor. Good times, good memories |

![]() In the context of basketball, I might have overstated things by calling my brother a "giant." He's around 6'6. I'd have to ask him to know for sure. I doubt he's much over that. I know that my dad was 6'6, and my bro passed him when he was in grade 12. In an earlier post, I said that I lost the genetic lottery because many people told me I'd be as tall as them. When I was 14, I was actually a little taller than my dad and brother were at the same age. But I completely stopped growing at 14. Height is one of those things you definitely can't predict with certainty.

![]() This thread was fun to read! I'm certainly not going to fool you into thinking I can dunk, especially not of my gender. But I used to play coed pickup, and this one time someone's brother came out to play. She couldn't tell us his height exactly because she only knew in meters, but she guessed he was 7'. Geez he didn't have much of a game, but believe me it was awesome seeing him dunk alongside us. It's probably as close as I'm ever going to be next to Bargnani (even Rasho).

![]() I dunked in my first three games of the grade 10 season, and never dunked in a game after that
![]() I couldn't dunk standing flat footed under the rim -always needed a running start. Basic dunks for the most part; one hand, two hands, off the backboard. Pulling off a decent dunk in warm ups in front of an opposing gym is a stellar feeling -kinda miss it. I'm only a few years removed, so I think I can still throw down. On a 10 foot rim too, as opposed to 9'3. |

![]() Basic one handed dunk off two legs though. To take into consideration I am about 6'0.5" and was around 165 pounds in my senior year. I don't think I can even come close to dunking now that I bulked up to 175. I bet Trane was throwing down 2 handed cockback flat footed dunks back in the day considering he is 6'9" 260.
