Default drummond ...

I thought this guy was supposed to be a stiff, he sure didn't seem like one.
It's early, but I was very impressed with him, offensively he's not much, although his sheer size created a ton of space for bynum and their other guards because amir had to stick to him like glue leaving wide open lanes to the basket.

but defensively, he was pretty good - very active. Either he progressed a lot over the summer, or some people really didn't do their job scouting this guy.

and his physical abilities are just crazy, maybe he's slightly smaller than howard, but his hands are so long that their reach must be similar.

Asa rap fan, this is tough. But its one game u gotta remember, kwame had a couple good games, Once JV gets healthy, he's going to be a blocking machine. He's got almost as much length as drum, tross is looking good, we gotta lot games b4 we criticize.

BC had better hope to God that this game was just a flash in the pan for the kid because this is kind of move that could and SHOULD get him fired (although, yes, I realize that it's still early and we'll have to see what happens).

From what I saw tonight though I have no reason to believe that Drummond WON'T be a dominant big man in the league for many years to come. He already looked like DeAndre Jordan or Javale McGee out there tonight... with about twice the brain power and half the fouls.

VERY impressed with him.

It was quite a bad day for all of 3 Lithuanians. No need to panic. Let's wait till December or so to judge.

Good fuckn' lord people. It's amazing how very little gets people to change their minds either for the good or the bad. My fav new player (until I see Lowry) has easily been Ross. A lot of people passed on Drummond for his work ethic and immaturity. Let's give it time and see if he turns into Eddie Curry.

It's entirely possible to like Ross a ton and still see this as a huge fuckup. It's just hard to see how you pass on something like that. Remember tanking? Wasn't that wonderful? The whole idea behind wanting them to tank, as abhorrent as the idea is, was to gain a player that could make an enormous difference. The Raptors didn't do a great job of tanking, and still had a shot at a guy like this, and didn't take that shot. I'm going to really need to fall in love with Terrence now.

I'm going to wait a little longer before making any decisions. Drummond did tear it up last night though.

This was a guy who was shut down by Fab Melo on certain occasions in college. Yes, he looked good yesterday (again something I saw him do in college), but I saw him disappear in an awful lot of college games last year too. It's never a question of tools with him, but desire and heart. Did we really want BC to draft ANOTHER guy with a questionable work ethic?

That said, I'm a big fan of Ross. He moves well with and without the ball and I think he's a better fit for this team in the short and long term.

All I heard about this guys was that he absolutely had no offensive games - I noticed three things;

1. He is a decent finisher
2. He actually showed glimpses of a pretty good bball iq. A few times he tried nice little shovel passes inside to his fellow big. I think they both ended up being turnovers but it was the right idea
3. It looks like he plays with a chip on his shoulder

My greatest concern is that it's possible this guy is built for the NBA more than he is for college. If it turns out that he takes nights off then that will definitely take some edge off the missed opportunity.

All I can say is BC should have taken the best player available period.

& on the board when we were picking it was Drummond.

I like Ross, but we could have traded AB for a guard or SF of his caliber.

Haha...it definitely helped that Amir was a step slow last night. For me, Drummond showed flashes of brilliance last night versus a solid game on the whole. That's the type of guy he was in college - a flashes guy. It's still early but that's what I've always envisioned from Drummond, because he's never proved he can be anything but.

Drummond was arguably the worst player slated to go into the lottery, and potentially the first 20 picks. He was projected as a huge hit or miss project. The pistons picked Drummond because of upside, not his performance in college.

If we want to overstate a very small sample size I'm happy with Ross, kid looks a Spike Lee's movie away to look a new Ray Allen.
Same sweet release and mechanics.

You listened to an american broadcast from detroit where they hyped him insanely.

He had 1 good dunk, 1 goaltending and 1 basket violation that I saw.
Nothing else he did was overly noticeable to me.

Oh man. I remember 2 nice alley-oops in a row, a HUGE block, and lots of rebounds. He finished with 12 pts, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals.
