Let Houston keep Dragic and give them Bargnani, Amir and Calderon, for Lowry, Scola, and one of their picks. Or something like that.

They both have a similar build.

Dragic's percentages are better.

Lin gets more assists, steals, points and turnovers.

Dragic is 2 years 3 months older than Lin.

They'll probably get similar contracts. Though, Lin's contract is complicated because he's a restricted free agent, and the first two years of his contract are capped at $5 million per year.

The Lowry/Dragic situation is definitely something to watch for, you'd think Houston would want to trade one of them.

And c'mon Jeff.... you're not really going to tell me that ALL of Dragic's 264 games played were significant are you?

Dragic came into a better situation than Lin and got the chance to prove himself earlier. That's the only real difference.
Just wanted to point out that the stats you have given for Dragic are his season stats per game, not his starting stats.

Dragic>Lin

Plain & simple.

Although I would be happy with either as our starting point guard next season.

U don't amnesty a good player on an expiring contract.
You either trade him or keep him...there is no doubt in my mind that if BC tries to trade him this summer we can get something great in return the only thing is it still won't be a game changing SG or SF...& the draft isn't going to get us a player like that too, well atleast not right away...

But was Dragic from 2 years ago better than Lin right now?

And in 2 years will Lin be better than Dragic is right now?

They're both quality PGs, and you can make valid arguments for both players about which one is "better", or which is a better fit for the Raptors, but Lin certainly has more room for growth in his game.

It probably won't matter. It's hard to see the Rockets moving Dragic. I think it's more likely they'll try to move Lowry.

Dragic is more experienced and proven, is a better defender and takes care of the ball a lot better. Lin has also bounced around and been cut so much that it makes you pause a little. To say that these two are on par with each other is way off imo.
well considering dragic spent a yr behind nash helped him alot more then lin playing behind the knicks starter, whoever it was when they were losing

i agree with you, their not that different from one another and should command about the same salary contract in the offseason

Lowry/Dragic situation will most certainly be interesting to watch. Could turn out to be ford/calderon back in 07-08

I would throw a little bit of money at Sebastian Telfair.

They've been bringing him along slowly in Phoneix and making him play a controlled team style of basketball. His confidence is only now starting to come back. He could be primed for a breakout year and had for a fraction of Dragic' cost.

ED, Jose for Portland's pick. With Portland's pick, J.Lamb, Marshall, or Lillard can be had. Also, major cap space is gained in the summer with Jose's contract gone. Portland does it to get a nice backup for LA and ED can play alongside him at times OR he is an asset to trade. Jose just does his job and dishes the ball to Matthews (like a younger but different AP), Batum and LA. Portland then doesn't have to worry about getting their PG.Also, Portland still has the pick from NJN.

I wonder what happened between Bayless and Dragic. They were really chippy at their last meeting. Bayless was so frustrated being shutdown like that lol
