It's based on the best player at that point and not who we need

That's not the answer I was looking for .... if we draft Curry is he a good fit for the Raptors? Yay or Nay? Does his collegiate career translate to the professional level?

Well sooooooooooooorry. It might. He is a major scorer, I don't know about his defence but I do know he is pretty small to guard the 2

Nay. Curry is undersized as a shooting guard and cannot play point guard. He reminds me of Trajon Langdon from Duke. He put up massive numbers in college but was a flop in the NBA.

He's averaging 28 points a game because he can create his own shot which is something that not a lot of players can do at the collegiate level - but he's 6'3". He might match up against an athletic 6'5" defender one out of every six games, and he can get away with his height on most nights. In the NBA he'll be defended by an elite athlete every single night, and he'll also have to be giving it his all on both ends of the court.

I don't know, I'm skeptical. I don't see his height doing him any favours in the NBA.

The Raps need some major tanking so they can nab Harden.

Curry is a PG and has been playing that position this year at Davidson
I would take these guards before Curry
Rubio
Harden
Teague
Warren
Henderson
possibly even Evans

stephen curry from what I seen is another ben gordon, but not as athletic and just maybe has more potential at the point. But i dont think he can ever be a pure pg..
I like Harden
solid NBA ready player

Monroe wouldn't be at 10 if it was by best player.

I'm a proponent of BPA, so if Monroe's still on the board, you take him and run. As of right now though, i can't see him falling out of the top 3.

1) Curry can shoot the ball

2) Curry can create his own shot

3) Curry comes from NBA stock (Dell is his dad)

All 3 of those things point to him having a pretty good NBA career.

I wouldn't bet against him.

Nay,
Curry is intriguing, but he's more of a pure shooter than the slashing type of scorer the Raps really need. I think he can make it as a pro, but he'll have to really hit the weights.
I loved watching his dad and I hope Stephen can carve out a similar career.
His run in the tournament last year was awesome.

most likely
there is a buyout clause in his contract
and the contract for a top 3 should cover it
in a relativly average draft I think he will declare
remember that the cap might not increase for a couple years
might as well take the money while its still avaliable

actually the player most compared to Gordon is Warren
but Warren has better passing abilities
