Default Draft wants/Draft predicitons

First part: Ideal draft/wants - explain who you want if we keep all picks, and who we pick.
Feel free to include a rationale if you'd like, as well.

My ideal:

8th - Damian Lillard
37th - Jae Crowder
56th - Quincy Acy/ Robert Sacre (if either are around)

Ideally, we pick up a future PG, and with Crowder and Acy, we get guys with HUGE motors and passion to play the game. If it's Sacre, we get a Canadian kid, and a player that needs to work on rebounding, but could help be a defensive anchor.
I also wouldn't mind picking Austin Rivers with our first, but I'm hoping Lillard is on the board when we pick.

Second part: Prediction time - what you think we do on draft day

Predicitons -

8th - traded - if we get an additional pick, a little later, I'd say Kendall Marshall or Moe Harkless
37th - Kim English
56th - traded for a future 2nd rounder or pick an obscure European (Maurizio pick) that will be stashed for a couple of years.

-I say we end up trading the pick. There has been rumours about us moving the pick for months, but now that it gets close to draft time, I think the 3 guys that BC is targeting are all off of the board. We trade the pick for a SF or a PG. If we do trade down or get a later pick in the 1st round, I think we take a value pick (Marshall - on a good contract for 4 years, as a replacement to Jose, or Nash or we take Harkless and let him develop slowly.

With our second round picks, I think we add English - who could be one of the best shooters in the draft, and we add an outside threat. With our second 2nd rounder, I think MG makes a pick and stashes a player oversees that we wait on for a couple of years, and/or never hear from again.

Let's see if anybody gets the prediction part right!

My dream draft

BC trades the 8th pick preferably for a PG like Lowry.

Then with Lowry on the team, we don't need Jose. So we deal him and maybe one of our expendable bigs(AJ/ED) for a starting caliber SF. Someone who can put up 10-15 points, rebound decently and defend. Deng would be amazing. But if BC can't pull that off, I'd understand.

so we'd have:

JonasV
Bargnani
Deng/other SF acquired from trade
Derozan
Lowry

OR (inspired by the Drummond thread)

Andre "the giant" Drummond falls to us at 8, we take him. Then we deal Bargnani for a PG/SF.

JonasV
Drummond
Deng/current SF if PG is traded for
Derozan
Lowry/Calderon if SF is traded for

Preferably plan A. Plan B is more like an NBA 2k12 scenario.

Ideal: 8th- D. Lillard,A. Rivers,
37th- K. Joseph,D. Green
56th- R. Sacre, any Canadian

Reality:Traded for a player and lower pick. (Kyle Lowry and Moe Harkness)
37th- T. Taylor
56th- R. Sacre

•There will be more than 1 franchise player from this draft. I see two more, not sure who but I feel 2 may blossom quickly, outside of A. Davis. Possibly sooner than him too.

•I feel there will be 5 trades from teams in the top half of the 1st round

•I suspect that there's already a secret agreement but under conditions between TO & Houston. I think the Raps are hign on Lillard and if he's there at #8 they'll keep the pick,if not Houston will accept the trade and draft Waiters.

Toronto WILL acquire Lowry,BOOK it! He's unhappy and Dragic wants to start if he returns. Houston holds the 14th,16th and 18th picks, but they're not getting Howard or D. Will hahaha. So they're not drafting and keeping all those players to add to a young squad. The Raptors are the best suitor for Lowry. The #8 and possibly a player will go to the Rockets for Lowry and the 16th.Toronto will then draft Harkness or Ross with the 16th pick.

Yeah, I think Lowry + one of houston's picks for the 8th pick would be a solid deal. We get that PG we want and a SF too.

I'm in the same boat. I'd like to see us trade down and acquire either Lowry or Iggy, and then choose Harkless with our mid pick.

But I predict we'll end up taking Dion Waiters and nothing else will happen and everyone will be disappointed

yes, i was in the 95% of people who disliked the pick at the time.

you would have been in the 4% who didnt know any better, or just went on blind faith, awesome.
or maybe you were in the 1% who actually seen JV play, and watched video on him, awesome.

It's crazy how many people were so set on Knight and Walker last year, but those of us who were excited about the pick were obviously more excited about the idea of a 7'0 C with good skills and major potential than what was being hyped around draft time.

Last year's draft was exciting for me, but at the time the future of the raps looked years away.

at the time of the pick i was upset... mainly because i didnt have a clue who JV was, and just threw him in the euro bucket.
but that quickly changed after about 15 mins. watching a few youtubes and hearing good feedback made me accepting. then as time went on i got excited and happy about the pick. I'd think most people fell in that category as well.

It would give me a great feeling if he was dealt.

Also, regarding JonasV at the draft last year. The only thing I didn't like about him was that I feared his buyout/contract would be Rubio-like.
