Exclamation Doug Smith: Colangelo needs to fix this mess

Quote:
I donít know what, precisely, that Bryan can do because I donít think he can go in the locker room and start ripping guys without it being seen as a blatant undermining of his coach.

But this has to be primarily on him, he put this group together and heís got to get it fixed. Maybe a few threats here and there, judiciously made either in cahoots with his coach or to people close to under-achieving players is in order.

But to think he can magically place a call or two and make some significant trade now is folly. It doesnít happen that way.

Other GMs arenít lining up to obtain players from a 7-13 team, certainly not for anything close to equal value, and as perhaps we remember from 2004, a panic trade is a stupid trade.

Maybe the best thing is for Jay to do something to change the lineup and for Colangelo to stand by him and let the players know in no uncertain terms that heís with his coach and if feelings are hurt and playing time cut, well, tough noogies.

I think Jay needs to start kicking asses. If he's going to be the coach then he needs to kicks some asses and bench guys immediately when they don't do their job. I would rather lose a game with Marcus Banks, Sonny Weems, Amir Johnson, Chris Bosh and Rasho Nesterovic on the floor doing their job the right way than watching a much more talented lineup going through the motions without a care and losing. Trust me, after two or three games of Jose, Hedo and Andrea playing five minutes they will start to get the message.

Funny you say that. most of your friends thought you'd look like 44, but seems now it's more likely to be 30.

I gave up after they changed the web site format. It's a mess and half the content I can't even read because the browsers load it so it's way over to the right off screen and the stupid web master turned off the ability to scroll over.

I've complained, well let me correct that, I've tried to complain but the dumb message to webmaster form doesn't work.

Well done "Star"...

BC isn't going to fire his hand picked (just signed!) coach 1/3 of the way into the season.

It just won't happen.

So yes, the ball is firmly in his (and the players') court right now.

I think BC should start threatening to hold on to players, with Bosh more then likely out the door come trade deadline, Toronto is going to turn in to a development waste land. All you have to say is I am going to keep you here and tank your career (hedo and bargs). This season was basically set up as promo for why Bosh should stay, I don't understand why the other players don't see this, namely those who just signed 5 year deals. They should realize that Bosh is the only ticket they have to the playoffs, when he is gone this place is going to fell an awful lot like a prison.

I have google alert me of Raptors articles, that way I can circumvent all the sloppy web design and be directed right to the page the story is on.

I don't mind the new design. Took a bit of getting used to though. CNN's new site is crap.

I say its time to give Marco a chance and start him and bench Bargs. Bench DD as well and get Amir in and see how it'll turn out because Amir plays good with Bosh though he get foul a lot but whatever find a way to train to not cause foul troubles ^_^; BC said it himself I think a while back he said who he think the person who will spark this year is Marco; so then why not start him instead of sitting because he's doing so much better then Bargs is I believe. Marco play good with Hedo as well i think.

So we have Bosh/Jose/Marco/Hedo/Amir to start and Jack/Barg/Antione/Demar/Reggie/etc bench ^_^
