Default Doug Smith: Bargnani Has Minor Surgery

Nothing huge, but surgery nevertheless.

Also, no summer ball for Andrea which in his case because he still has a ton to learn considering the Raptors want him as a centre, maybe isn't the smartest idea at this point. Best way to learn and get better is by actually playing in games.

Heíll be at a big man camp in Vegas and likely spend some time with John Lucas in Houston. He wonít, I donít think, play in the summer league.

Nor will he play in the Olympics, or even the final Olympic qualifier, because Italy didnít qualify for either. The Italian team has to play in the qualification tournament for next yearís European championships but the Raptors have already told the Italian federation that they donít want Bargnani playing, a request that will most likely be granted.

As for a big manís coach? Maybe they need one, maybe they donít. If they want him to become a true back-to-the-basket centre, he could probably use some instruction in that regard.

I had my adenoids (learn how to spell Doug) out when I was 12 and I stopped getting sick so much and my allergies went away. Hopefully this helps Bargs too, so he's not sick all the time.

Less is more. More or less. But mostly less. Or should that be more?

Interesting. He could very well have had trouble breathing right, sleeping well, and might have just felt icky for some time. It might explain things to a small degree.

I don't think Summer League games would help him. Working with John Lucas and really getting in shape and getting stronger will help him for sure.

They said he had a sinus infection for two and a half months and on top of that he always has the flu or a cold.

Interesting.

When I was ~10-12, I had my tonsils and adenoids removed.

Before that, I would get bronchitis almost every winter, and (apparently) snored very loudly.

After that, I didn't get bronchitis anymore, and have generally been a lot healthier. I still have allergy problems come springtime/summertime/early fall (seasonal - grass, trees, ragweed).

Hopefully this helps Bargnani keep healthier.

If it effected his sleep at all even, not allowing for the deep REM stuff where you really get rested, then as an athlete it had to have hurt some, both physically and mentally.
