Default Douby: "He'll be a force to be reckoned with in this league"

Quote:
DeMar DeRozan's pro debut—a day after signing his rookie contract with the Toronto Raptors—featured a small handful of players with NBA experience. But for a revitalized fan base in Ontario, it wasn't lacking significance.

"I think we're going to be one of the top teams in the East," Raptors guard Quincy Douby said after Friday's summer league game in Las Vegas. "We got a great rookie. I think the sky is the limit."
Quote:
"I was rushing my shots and everything at the beginning," DeRozan told HOOPSWORLD. "I just have to wait for my game to come to me. I'm not worried about it. I know how to play the game."

He did, however, throw down a memorable alley-oop from Roko Ukic to give Toronto a six-point lead in the third period.

"I went up with both feet and I just got it," DeRozan added.
Quote:
"I just want to get better with defense every time I'm out there," said DeRozan. "Taking that challenge on, guarding the 2s and 3s of the league. I adjust fast. I listen to older guys, take from them and keep going.

"Everything defensive-wise I learned from (former USC Coach) Tim Floyd," DeRozan added. "Just how hard you have to play every time down guarding your opponent."
Quote:
"I've been playing with him for about four days now," said Douby. "He's a great player. He's really athletic. I watched him play a lot in college… He's going to be a beast. He'll be a force to be reckoned with in this league."

I'm starting to like this second line coming from the bench.

Ukic, Derozan, Evans and Pops (I hope) has the potential to be one of the best 6th to 11th man players in the league comparing to developed benches like Boston and Denver.

I didn't know you had to be a great ball player to have an opinion that counts? What college did Grange and Smith play at? Clown College?

Thats bullshit...takes a good player to know a good baller...Douby is a good baller... in comparison to all of us....why not take his words and welcome them...instead everyone here is a fuckin credit when someone says something good about our rookie....this is the reason that Bosh will leave if he does...no respect from fans... since we are all NBA super stars we know everything

fuckin pathetic

who thinks they know everything here?
Im just saying I'd value the opinon of a good ball player over a shit ball player.
Who would you want an basketball related opinion from, Eddie House or Garnett?
Do you think everyone here actually values one anothers opinions?
Like seriously, that rant wasnt necessary and a matter of fact, it was pathetic.

MY rant may be pathetic but whats more pathetic is the fact that when someone says something good about a player on our team reagrdless of his status....your gonna jump and say yeaaaa well i rather here that form Kobe... Douby knows basketball...he is in the NBA...yea he might be a scrub...but hasnt he played again world class players?....played with world class players?

dont you think that his point especailly comming with such magnitude may be something to feel good about that

No Douby sucks....soo if he is sayin DeRozan gonna be sick doesnt mean shit

thats the stupidest theory in the world...congradulations your an idiot

Douby is not soo, bad how many points did he average in college like 26?

Douby can score it's really about giving him a chance...Although if Toronto signs Jack he is never going to get PT or he will be traded.

Douby would be good for the second unit to off set Ukic being a SG size...Just like Detroit is going to run with there starters having a 6'5" PG with a 6'3" SG
