Don't give the ball to Bosh for the final shot

When's the last time Bosh won us a game at the buzzer? Don't get me wrong, he's a great player. But Bosh, mvp or bust? You busted, not even a candidate anymore. Time and time again, he's proven that he is not clutch.

He has extreme difficulties playing against his "friends", has anyone noticed this? He and Aldridge are apparently really close, and the best part is they have to guard each other. Who won the battle tonight between the two? That's right, the NON-Allstar, NON-Franchise player Aldridge, who capitalized on countless open looks today, against an unwilling Bosh that chose not to be physical with him, foul him and not contest a single shot. Sure, they're friends but look at Aldridge, remember that play where he freaking blocked one of Bosh's dunks and made him drop to the floor and finished on the side with a dunk? I can understand friends playing soft against EACHOTHER, meaning that this went both ways, but CLEARLY the agreement was lopsided tonight since Lamarcus decided to break their "play soft" agreement.

Same could be said for matchups with Howard or even the other night where CARMELO on numerous times got free open, non physical layups against Bosh who was guarding the hole. I know he's not physical or gritty in general but he's even WORSE against his friends. The worst part is, he's said that he wants to play even "better" against his friends, but he hasn't proven that to me, one single bit.

The worst part out of all of this is, the locker room situation must really be difficult, as its acknowledged Bosh is our leader and franchise player. But when he makes a mistake, a game taking one, who's gonna step up and who's gonna critize him? Just a thought.

I've had enough with the Raps, I've been too loyal of a fan over analyzing the fact that they suck is just wasting my time as it is for many of you on these boards. When a trade happens, maybe I'll tune in again but this is just getting stupid.

'Nough said.

***Edit, The Knicks beat the Pistons tonight. Just goes to show how much more we friggin suck if a roster change isn't made. This is honestly, what the playoffs are going to look like this year. Teams will lose here and there but all those guys above us will continue to stay above us.

Colangelo's patience has already erupted and he has already fired Mitchell, can Bargnani is next?

MetroStar 12-07-2008 05:38 PM

He was just unlucky. When the result depends just in one shot it is a matter of luck more than anything else.

DH34 12-07-2008 05:38 PM

Bosh could get the last shot in a game if the play is set up right. The final seconds were so sloppy. There was basically no play set.

The MVP of West Hollywood 12-07-2008 05:39 PM

Wow I didn't realize how close we are to Charlotte. Damn... that team sucks.

dooodo 12-07-2008 05:42 PM

This was a HOME game we lost, to a team that should have been put away. I'm really displeased with his play as of late.

If we can't even win here, where are we going to win? At the Staples Centre?

DH34 12-07-2008 05:43 PM

I still think its the coaching there. You guys needed a final play set up, there was nothing. You basically gave the ball to bosh to do whatever.

dooodo 12-07-2008 05:50 PM

There was a play set, the problem was execution. They were having problems inbounding the ball and to avoid getting the inbound call, the pass was made to an unexpected Bosh who was toying around at the 3 point line at the time. But when he gets the ball he tries to resume the play.

If he was smart, he would have analyized the situation, saw that the setup play wasn't going to work because he wasn't even near 10-18ft from the rim. He should have passed the ball to a shooter given the fact that that Portland was playing zone, but instead he went up for a heavily contested layup that had absolutely no intention of getting in. He just threw it at the backboard prayed to god that he'd get a call.

The last 2 games we got blown out by 30....

... today we lose by 1 to one of the better teams in the NBA... and people are STILL freaking. lol....

Was I the only one that saw some improvement today? Really?

Admiral 12-07-2008 06:20 PM

what happened today was JO had the ability to abuse oden's inexperience, and the home game gave the team some help
CB has completely come off the olympic high, now we're seeing what his usually level will be more like
what we should do on a final play like today's is to give the ball to jose or maybe even better to have it in AP's hand because AP probably has the best jump shooting ability, AP can then shoot up a half decent shot rather than having to hope for cb's random shots when he's pressured, and with the amount of time left on the clock this would have worked better because it allows AP to take the best shot and lets both JO and CB attempt the offensive board, we should've probably even put moon and/or bargs out because at this point it is a shot and then everyone needs to crash the boards

DH34 12-07-2008 06:23 PM

Who else would take a CLUTCH shot on the raptors other then bosh? I would think they should go to there best player...

N64 12-07-2008 06:47 PM

as long as they are not here to start some trouble theres no problem.

So no one is buying the MLSE company line of 2nd hardest Sked? As for Bosh taking the last shot he is your best player and the ball and choice to take or pass that final shot deserves to be his as the franchise player. That is my take on that.

derrek 12-07-2008 08:01 PM

One loss away from being the Bobcats.

Uh... :tombstone::tombstone:

I said it wrong, I am a nets fan but im not an asshole lol. I have no bias opinions..

I also like the raptors team. I like many of the players on the raptors.

CobraKing 12-07-2008 08:05 PM

I personally feel that Triano should've benched Bosh for taking that ill-advised three. It just seems that there's a lack of discipline, smarts and mental toughness with our Raptors.

Just don't mention V.C :gun:

Krazy Ivan 12-07-2008 08:08 PM

Bosh is, usually, best option on this team but this time he was too far from the basket when he got the ball and he looked confused about the amount of time left on the clock... maybe Triano instructed them to run a different play but Raps panicked and Bosh ended up with the ball by default.

DH34 12-07-2008 08:13 PM

Hahhahhahaha, i won't talk about VC....
