Do Raptors Need a New Center?

I was just wondering if anyone else thought that the Raptors need a new center. I mean, Bargnani is more like a PF or F, not a center. Bosh is obviously our typical PF and who do we have left as a center?
Noone! (excluding inexpierienced players like Jawai).

If we need a new center, who do you think is the right player?

I say Paul Milsap or Mehmet Okur.

I think if we trade Bosh this offseason then we can get a good center so Bargs can play PF. BTW welcome to RF

Bargnani can guard guard most centers but I think we just need a competent back-up big guy who can guard Shaq and D-Ho. Those are the main centers we have problems with. Looks like Patrick Obryant can't provide this so all we have left is Voshkul (foul-prone), Jawai (D-league) and Hump. Does anyone know when Hump is coming back or if he's coming back?

Just make sure the center we draft is in the second round because we need a Sg more

Voshkuhl is not foul-prone, his role is to use his fouls.

yes. comes on beginning of the second quarter... 4 fouls in 4 minutes. Leaving the rest of our team with no fouls to give and playing softer defence or sending them to the line for the bonus.

voskuhl is really helping us.

. he's def. the worst player on our team.

I also think our focus should be on drafting a shooting guard but if we're looking for a centre to help guard guys like D12 and the Diesel it should be a veteran defender and not some young chap we picked because we had to.

Keeping in mind the dude came in for the sole purpose of hitting people and bringing some grit to the team. I think everyone knew from the outset that he wasn't a skilled guy, but that wasn't the point.

^^^^^hmmm interesting comment....i don't think its as bad i think Bargs would gladly come off the bench for Bosh but not the other way around plus Bosh would never be a player to come off the bench.....i can see it being somewhat of a similar situation.....Bosh will be a nice piece to trade in the off season if he decides he wants out

If the Raps are going to go with Bosh and Bargnani they need a defensive centre of the bench. Someone of Diop or Dampier mould. They can get away with facing most centres in the league but when they face Yao or Dwight they need that defensive centre.

we should get a center like Bynum to play alongside Bargnani
someone that can hit the glass, has a post game, and is a serious threat on D
Bargnani will blossom and so will bosh...

As long as Bosh and Bargnani are Raptors, there is no way we are going to have a new STARTING center. To get one without sacrificing any of these two, it means to get discovered again at one of 1/2/3, which we all realized ( see JO short stint with Raptors) is not the right solution. We may have a quality backup center though and I am thinking Rasho
