for what it's worth, hollinger projects this about waiters:
Quote:
Hollinger's controversial to be sure, but his formulas did predict leonard is a good pick and apparently, for wings, past results have been really good in conforming with reality. waiters is currently projected to slide to 8th, after he was moved to 7th last week on espn's draft board. |

shouldn't the best player on your team at least start, especially in college
isn't that a little troubling that he didn't start and that his stats arent the best on the team, kris joseph had better stats and he is going late in the second round i guess i support the marvin williams theory if you cant start for your college team your not good enough to take eary in the draft and thats what the Raptors are about to do |

He played what, about 24/25 mpg? He was a part of a deep rotation that highlighted his strengths + hid his weaknesses. I don't want the raps to draft another guy like dd or Bargs who has major flaws that need to be covered. I also want the raps' pick to be used to be playing mad minutes.

Good article on Waiters by David Aldridge on NBA.COM. Around the same time last year, Aldridge was raving about Jonas. I agree with the last comment, Raptors need a leader (Alpha Male):
"But Syracuse's Dion Waiters is coming on like a freight train, with sources insistent that he'll be gone somewhere between No. 6 (Portland) and No. 8 (Toronto) after earlier rumors had Phoenix making a promise to take Waiters at 13. The Kings could shake loose a few additional assets if they let it be known they're looking hard at Waiters, whose offensive skills continue to have NBA types drooling." "His talent, it's exceptional," one scout said Saturday. "There's no guard in the Draft that can do what he does." "Toronto also supposedly has a jones for Waiters, with sources saying that Coach Dwane Casey wants an "alpha male" for his still-young squad." |
