Ditto. "Wow, Rivers knows how to talk to the media and interview, he must be great on the court."

there's also the possibility that Portland and Toronto swap picks to make sure GSW doesn't take Waiters and Portland still gets Lillard.

Dion Waiters becomes the next Dwayne Wade

Dion Waiters becomes the next Dwayne Wade

Syracuse shooting guard Dion Waiters has drawn comparisons to Dwayne Wade for his hard-nosed play, agility and ability to overcome defenders, and that's exactly what the Toronto Raptors need to become a serious threat in the NBA.

While Jose Calderon and DeMar DeRozan are solid NBA regulars, they are best suited for lesser roles. Because of a lack of talent, the Raptors relied upon them heavily.

With Waiters on board, much of the offensive responsibility will be thrust onto his shoulders. He'll be asked to do it all, which is something that he'll likely be able to handle.

Even if he doesn't become the next Wade, anything remotely close will do wonders for an ailing Toronto franchise.

After souring on initial long-time favorite Jeremy Lamb following an injury shortened workout, Toronto will be disappointed to see the new apples of their eye, Dion Waiters and Damian Lillard, get picked back to back right in front of them. Rivers is reportedly the pick for now, unless Toronto convinces Sacramento to trade down and hope Harrison Barnes is still available.

Hmm if waiters is taken 4th... does that allow Barnes to drop to 8th?

The Cavaliers' interest in Dion Waiters with the fourth overall pick has increased significantly, according to sources.

Waiters hasn't visited the Cavaliers for a workout or a meeting with officials, but he remains in play for the franchise, especially if the team is unable to draft Bradley Beal.

Sources believe the Cavaliers would take Waiters with the fourth pick if Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Bradley Beal are off the board.

Cleveland has intensified its background checks on Waiters.

The Cavaliers would prefer to move up to draft Beal, but have resisted agreeing to a trade with the Bobcats due to their unwillingness to take back Tyrus Thomas.

As one league source connected to the talks said, "The rest of the deal would have to be very strong for [the Cavs] to take on [Thomas]."

The Raptors have been aggressive in moving ahead of the Warriors in pursuit of Waiters, according to sources.

Wade was a seasoned NCAA player who was used to being the man on his team and played major minutes. He was ready for the NBA. Waiters was a 6th man barely playing over half a game in one season for a talented team. Wade is also taller than Waiters.

YESSSSS

2012 NBA draft -- Cleveland Cavaliers eye Bradley Beal, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Harrison Barnes, sources say - ESPN

Quote:
If the Cavs stay at No. 4 and Beal is off the board, their front office is torn between Kidd-Gilchrist and Barnes. While Barnes provides more punch offensively, the Cavs are intrigued by the defensive abilities and leadership qualities of Kidd-Gilchrist.

The Cavs also have shown interest in Dion Waiters and Terrence Ross, but sources say that interest doesn't extend to the No. 4 pick.

I think he's going 4th and has been promised by Cleveland all along. With Gibson being a UFA and Parker retiring they need a SG badly. Beal is perfect but he's not going past Washington. unless They already have a capable starter in Gee at SF so unless they envision Barnes playing SG,i think it's safe to assume they won't be picking him or MKG who are both better suited at SF. DOn't know if they have the pieces to jump Washinton to 2nd to draft Beal.

1. Davis, 2. Barnes 3. Beal 4. Waiters 5. ?(Robinson), 6. ?(Drummond) 7. ?(MKG) 8. ?(Lillard)
